While I was reading about Cindy Landon's messed-up face, I thought about a lot
of celebs who have had lousy luck with their plastic surgery.....It's also
funny how some of them look good in repose (like Lauren Bacall), but as soon as
they start talking, their faces don't seem to move naturally! I mean, god -
these people have soooo much money - can't they pay for good work? The only
natural face-jobs I've seen are Barbra Streisand and Goldie Hawn - but look how
awful Melanie Griffith, Carol Burnett, Cher (of course!), Jack Lemmon
(yikes!), JOAN RIVERS (need I say more??), and sooo many others - god, I'm
drawing a blank....help me out, guys!!

Elaine Young, the LA real estate agent. They say that she got badly burned
in a plastic surgery accident while getting a chemical peel.

I think Dick Clark looks perfectly awful since he had his eyes done. I wonder
if he can close them completely now?

Burt Reynolds has done some damage.
Also, Al Pacino looks like a mannequin of himself.
On another note, has anyone noticed how artificially tight Heather Locklear's
face looks?? I would think she's a bit young for PS but, maybe thats why she
looks so bad.

Isn't that almost shocking, i was thinking it may have something to do
with steroids or whatever he may have taken to ehance his performance.
It looks too freaky to be plastic surgery. Does anyone know about what
happened to him?

Bea Arthur's lower lids are so pulled, you can see the pink area under
her eyes. Barbara Walters eyes don't look good either.

My son saw Richard Chamberlain at The New Dramatists luncheon last week, and
said he was grotesque looking. We especially got a good laugh out of it, since
in last week's People magazine, Richard claimed he hadn't had any plastic
surgery, that he just had good genes.

Frank Gifford looks like an old drag queen.
Florence Henderson looks like a chipmunk.
Faye Dunaway looks like Margo when she
tried to leave Shangri La. When Joan Rivers had her last eye job she
(by her own admission)could not close her eyes for days - even when
"seeping".

And he was so incredibly good looking when he did Dr Kildare. I wish a
plastic surgery expert could explain what happened in these particular
cases, were it is an entire face change, not just tight skin. And this
happened early on, way before he would have needed surgery. What a
shame. He was beautiful enough to have aged gracefully like a Paul
Newman, no doubt he's had a tuck or two but but minimal.

Not that I could ever afford it, but I would LOVE to know who Jaqueline
Kennedy's surgeon was. Also, Oprah's!! She gets younger looking every year.

Some other women who look good are Jacklyn Smith and Victoria Principal. These
women's faces still look soft and natural. Maybe Victoria's plastic surgeon
husband did her surgery.

I always think men who have their eyes done look like turtles. Even some
women, like Barbara Walters, have plastic surgery turtle eyes.

Dyan Cannon's face is looking a bit tight. So is Kenny Rogers'.

I think the key to "good" plastic surgery is to make small changes
frequently rather than one big "lift" at once. The idea is to look
refreshed, not disfigured.

Sticking with General Hospital, how about Shell Kepler (Amy)? Her nose looks
like Silly Putty! I can't even look at her when she's on the screen! It's
as bad as that horrible line of clothing she sells on HSN!

Speaking of the reverse, I saw Susan Lucci win the Emmy. She looks 25! I
wonder if that's natural?

Have you noticed how many of these bad plastic surgery jobs have been done to
men. Phyllis Diller, who has practically donated her body to the pursuit of
plastic surgery, says that men shouldn't have face lifts because it emasculates
them. It is perhaps the most astute observation about them I've ever heard.

Here in L.A. local anchor Paul Moyer had his eyes done and he looks absolutely
horrific.

Jocelyn Wildenstein( or something like that). That dreadful society
gal in NYC who has had much plastic surgery on her face to try to take
on the features of a cat. Now she takes the cake for grotesque!

Cheryl Ladd looks *off*, to me...I think her eyes got pulled a weeeeeee bit too
much. Dolly Parton needs to leave bad enough alone. She looks like a
recently-discovered starvation victim.
OTOH, someone mentioned Jaclyn Smith as looking damn good. I second this. Even
under close un-airbrushed scrutiny she looks at least 10 years younger than she
is.

Hey, in advance I know I'm being tacky, and beauty is only skin deep, but this
woman ALWAYS looked as if she'd survived a bad plastic experience, with or
without surgery.

Also, I never could figure out why anyone was supposed to absorb her every
word about bagging a man considering the one she ended up marrying. To quote
that hussy, Sher, "Ewwwww!"

Do fish swim, does my ex-husband lie, does you-know-what stink?

Yeah I saw her a few years back two (she STILL had those stupid little bows in
her hair and she's , what , like 100 now? ) and her face had been pulled so
tight and up so radically that her eyes were so slanted the outer corners
seemed to fly up vertically and she could hardly move her mouth.

I end by pointing to the pensive and opinionated Pennwryn who quoted moi a few
posts ago:

EEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWW!!!

Hopefully plastic surgeons can do a better job when they
get around to rebuilding your mug, Sher, and the other
'brazen' hussy. Of course they can only work with what
you have so don't expect too much. . .
