Are you saying that Christopher is a Nance-y boy?

And where is this allegedly from? Unless you're the intern, I won't
buy it until there is a source.>>
It was reported on the Morning Show and in the LA Times. Sam Rubin was the one
who suggested an intern scandal whereas the Times said he was suspended pending
an investigation. If you'll notice, he wasn't on the air yesterday or today.
Here's the source:

QUICK TAKES
Christopher Nance, KNBC-TV's morning weathercaster, is on an indefinite paid
leave of absence pending an investigation into a personnel matter. Station
executives refused to comment about the inquiry. John Stehlin will fill in
during Nance's absence....
He cited the source-- Sam Rubin, the entertainment reporter.

NO COMMENT FROM NANCE
A reader tells me Sam Rubin reported that there is a rumor that the
absence of Christopher Nance from KNBC is somehow connected to an
intern. That is also what I was hearing last week. I still don't have
the entire story verified, but from talking to very reliable KNBC
sources, here is what I can tell you....
Christopher Nance has been missing from the air because of something
related to his relationship with an intern. When OTR reached this
intern in the newsroom today, she declined to comment.
What I am told by a KNBC insider is that around two months ago, a
young woman was brought in for a tour of KNBC by anchor Kelly Mack.
Nance took a liking to her and was able to help her become an intern
for him. The two got along very well together.
Soon after the intern arrived, this insider says people noticed a
different attitude by Nance. He seemed angry and not funny like he had
been. He began complaining about his wife, saying she spends too much
money and that he might like to dump her. About a month after the
arrival of the intern, Nance let it be known that he'd moved out of
his house. A second source tells me they sensed trouble in Nance's
marriage before this intern arrived, and also had not noticed a
difference in his attitude. This person tells me Nance had long
complained about his wife and management too.
I am told in the newsroom right now, there is an air of sadness mixed
with concern.
Further, I'm told that according to the KNBC schedule, Nance is
supposed to be at work tomorrow. I again called Nance's book company
and left a message. His assistant called me back to tell me that Nance
says he's in the desert working on his latest book, and that he cannot
comment until further notice. He suggested that I call the general
manager. I already emailed Paula Madison, and staying consistent with
her silent treatment to OTR on all issues, she has not responded.

Ron Fineman has been covering it on his On The Record site.
He's great for covering dirt on LA news.
Like I'm supposed to have a finger file for anyone who may report.
Sorry. Don't know who Sam Rubin is. Citing the source would be where
this Sam Rubin said it.>>
In my first post, I said it was reported on the KTLA Morning show and stated by
Sam Rubin. BTW, if you don't know who Rubin is, consider yourself lucky.
Thanks so much for posting this. A local dj here spoke of it, but
refused to
name the weatherman. It's been a while since I've watched NBC news,
so I couldn't remember who any of the weathermen are/were. Per the dj
here, he is
"on vacation".
On a separate note, does anyone know if Catherine Anaya on Channel 5
is pregnant? Kinda looks like it, but can't really tell for sure.
Lorrie
Because (at least in L.A.) the weatherman has the least to do around the
studio...

If the story about this intern is true, it appears he may have more
strength that he lets on. (It also appears that his days at KNBC may be
over.)

Oh-Look what I found :
WASHINGTON POST
October 9, 1997 John Smith, staff writer
Maryanne Kehoe is Really a Man
According to highly placed sources in the Clinton Justice Dept, newsgroup
pest Maryanne Kehoe is really a middle aged man living in Chicago. The man,
whose name was not revealed, has a history of mental problems and is
currently facing what the source would only refer to as ' Personal
challenges.' The sources revealed that the information was given to Justice
by an "Insider."
I just made all that up to show how easy it would be to fake a news story. I
could make it a little more credible, and who would ever bother to look it
up to see if I was telling the truth?
Never let your guard down...Not around here anyway.
