N-o-o-o...aarrggghhh!! I hated her character, puh-leeze don't bring her
back. What will it take to kill her off -- silver bullets and a stake
through her heart?

Let's all hold hands and walk off the cliff of possibility and believablity. I
think it's always a mistake to bring back former "dead" characters.

Yep, I'm with you. As much as I liked Claire, I would not want to see
L&O stoop to prime time soap opera style plot tricks - which they
would have to do to bring her back. I would hate to see a show that I
have always respected and associated with quality storytelling resort
to something straight out of Melrose Place.
take care,

I really miss the Claire Kincaid character. I don't know if the show has ever
actually referred to her death though. I thought they purposely left if
nebulous. After the season that ended with the car accident, I think
occasionally they've referred to Lenny and the "accident," but I really don't
recall them ever actually referring to her as dead.
Can anyone clear this up for me?

As far as I'm concerned, Law & Order lost all credibility when they hired that
Baywatch bimbo, Angie Harmon, to play the young ADA. She is so awful that I
can't stand to watch the show, anymore.
Angie's a terrible actress. She has to be the girlfriend or mistress of
sombody important. There's no way she got that great job on her acting
capabilities. She has none.
Bring back Jill! Or bring back Richard Brooks. Just bring back an actor or
actress that I can respect.

I liked her, too, but her return would ruin the show for me.

***This has long been a big issue on the Law and Order ng. I stopped reading
it long ago, but you could probably get a pretty good answer if you posted your
question (sorry--can't remember what it's called--maybe alt.tv.lawandorder).
IIRC, the consensus was that it was never said that Claire was dead, but that
was the clear implication.

Of course, both of these people appeared as guest actors before taking on
their regular roles. I don't think it would play out very well to have the
actor
or actress who played an established and regular character to come back
as someone else, though.
As far as whether or not the Claire Kincaid character was ever really said
to be dead, I would say that Jack's response to drunk driving and his total
emotional demeanor pretty well indicate that she died as a result of that
car accident. When Paul Sorvino's character was shot, he didn't die, and
that was made clear to us when he told Chris Noth's character that he
wasn't coming back to his old job but was taking a desk job instead.

Btw, in one ep of L&O, Jackie played Kincaid (non-speaking), while Jill was
doing a H:LotS crossover.

She was great in a small role in "I Shot Andy Warhol." Haven't seen her in
anything else though.
Butch
She did an indie with Jon Bon Jovi and Bai Ling called "Row Your Boat" that
went straight to pay-per-view in Malaysia.

Robinette, played by Richard Brooks, was a wonderful character. I was sorry
when the show felt they needed to add women to the cast and replaced him.
Brooks was a terrific actor. I've never understood why he wasn't snatched up
by another series. I've hardly seen him in anything since he left L&O.
But that awful actress, Angie Harmon, has a steady job on a great show. Talk
about no justice. Don't get me started.

He returned for a guest shot on L&O. He's great on GvsE on cable.
Butch
Shambala Green! I miss her so much, why don't they have her on anymore?
What a tenacious public defender she was.
And what ever happened to Leon(?) Gold, every richman's lawyer?
yeah, I liked L&O better before they disposed of Noth and Hennessey and
Florek. Hopefully, this season won't be as sappy as last, and they'll
keep Angie Harmon's screen time to a minimum.
bel
Right! And an excellent guest spot it was, Robinet turned all self
righteous and a touch greasy.

Lorraine Toussaint, who played Shambala, had her own series last season
called "Any Day Now". She starred in it with Annie Potts. I never got
around to seeing it, but I understand that Lorraine played a lawyer in
this series too.
I'm not sure, but I have a feeling that "Any Day Now" wasn't renewed this
season, so maybe we'll see Shambala back on L&O again.
I always thought, though, that her best roles in L&O were as Ben Stone's
adversary -- her intensity rivalled his. There's even been playful
speculation on the L&O newsgroup that maybe something romantic was going
on between Shambala and Ben -- they certainly had chemistry together.
Aha -- I saw a picture of her and Annie Potts in an article about "Any Day
Now", and couldn't figure out why she looked so familiar. Thanks for
clearing that up. According to the story, the show is still on the air. In
fact, it's one of Lifetime's highest rated shows.
