Read in the NY Post that PETA is stalking Jack Hanna, of all people, now
because he shows baby animals on the "Tonight Show" or some stupid shit like
that.

Made me wonder. Is there any dirt on Jack Hanna? Because he truly seems like
one of the nicest, under-appreciated celebs around. I know Bill Maher rudely
insulted him once on "PI" and he looked like he was about to cry before
summoning the strength to tell the PETA-loving phony fucker off.

Well...I'm from Columbus and there was some stuff in his past. He is, btw, no
longer the head of the zoo (due to his past). It was kept very low key, as to
not ruin the rep. of the zoo. He is now mainly their advertising person since
he brought so much attention to the once run down, pathetic columbus zoo.
About 15 yrs ago or so, he had an affair with a local newswoman(whose husband
was also a newscaster at the same station). The owner of the station also was
high up in the zoo. He found out about it and fired Hanna as director. The
newswoman and her husband also "disappeared" from the news shorty after--then
got divorced. As for Hanna....I think he is pretty much a playboy type, even
though he's been married to the same woman for some time. The guy behind all
of this eventually passed away a few years ago--he was a real jerk too.
I have met Hanna before and my father;s 1st wife was president of the Philly
Zoo, so her and Jack were good friends. He is ok...basically what you see on
TV is what you get--VERY hyper, agitated easily etc.

Damn. Another false saint bites the dust. Always pegged him as a do-gooder
boy scout. Haven't been this depressed since finding out John Walsh was
naughty.

Bummer. Thanks for the dish.

I never knew that's why he left! Was that the whole Mona Scott/Doug Adair
thing when she left the station and had a nervous breakdown? Who was the
station owner? Mel Dodge or Beverly D'Angelo's dad?

I knew Jack was a hounddog. He chased a pretty girlfriend of mine around a bar
one night but she would not go out with him.

Yes....

I know D'Angelo owned it(don't know if he still does) but the guy behind all of
this was a man by the last name of Wolfe (sp?) I am not sure what his
connection was, but it was high up enough to do something about all of this.
He died a few years back.

Really? Was it here in Columbus? If so, what bar?

Ohmygawd -- Were you aware that Doug and Mona had to leave their
anchorman/anchorwoman positions in Cleveland because they were boinking each
other and their spouses found out and it was a huge scandal? The station dumped
both of them and they went off "happily" to Columbus! I always wondered what
happened to them!!!

Ha, I guess it's the "what goes around, comes around" or whatever theory.
Someone should write a book about those two.

LOL that is too funny.....I thought I had heard something about that. I knew
that their marriage to one another was, at least, a second one for both....she
supposedly got around quite a bit. There is another newscaster here now in
Columbus who was up and coming when she had an affair with him also. He's
still here and used to attend the same church as my ex boyfriend.
