Do the experts still think that JFK was killed by one man?

assasination, so I thought I'd ask in here what the foresnisic experts are now
saying about whether or not JFK was assassinated by one man. I've heard on a
bunhc of programs that there are new technological ways of helping to determine
whether or not JFK was killed by one man. Do the experts still think that he
was killed by one man. I know this is a boring question because it's been asked
over and over and over for exactly 40 years, so can you just give me a Yes or
No?

whitewash. It's a last gasp effort by the New World Order to keep
the Warren Commission fiction alive because 80 percent of the American
people believe Kennedy was killed by a conspiracy.

Of course no one can give you a yes or no because there are "experts" on
both sides of the issue. However, from what I've read, the general
consensus is that Oswald had the means and the skill to shoot Kennedy, and
planned and executed the act alone. The whole conspiracy thing has
blossomed into a regular cottage industry; too many people are making
money from it for it to ever really go away.
There is a very good book called Case Closed, written by Gerald Posner. He
pretty much blows all the conspiracy theories to rags. Besides disproving
these theories, Posner also details the origins of many of the
half-truths, distortions and outright lies that have been promoted all
these years in support of a conspiracy. He also looks at many of the
conspiracy books that have been written over the years.

Said gal had been some kind of renowned HS science whiz -- & claims she was
unwittingly involved in CIA experiments to induce cancer in Angola (La.)
inmates re: research to get rid of Castro....
Her bottom line was that LHO was an anti-communist CIA operative & that he
was shocked when he was "assigned" to be a shooter @ Dallas. According to
the galpal, LHO only showed up on 11/22/63 to stop the assassination -- or
at least to make sure that *one* of the shooters (i.e. him) would miss the
target.

One of the arguments of one of the conspiracy theorist (forget his
name) is that the 'official' autopsy photo released by the FBI clearly
looked doctored. There's an area of the back of JFK's head that
didn't seem to match the coloring and shading of the rest of his head
and that lead some to believe that the pic had been doctored
(obviously WELL before we had Photoshop to do the trick) to cover up
the _exit_ wound on the back of his skull that some theorize is the
shot that really killed him. These conspiracy theorists believe that
someone from _in front of_ the motocade, not behind as LHO was,
delivered the fatal shot that killed JFK.
There was other evidence to support this claim (apparently). Such as:
apparently there were some eye witnesses at Parkland Hospital where
JFK was taken that saw his limo and clearly saw a bullethole in the
front windshield. There was an interview by one woman who said that
she was a doctor at the hospital on that day and was outside on a
smoking break and when all the commotion arrived at the hospital as
she was outside waiting to hear what was going on, not only was she
right there at his limo, but apparently she was even leaning up
against it as a man from the FBI got in it and drove it away out of
sight.
That theory goes that the FBI confiscated the limo to cover evidence.

I wasn't alive when this happened. Because of that, I'm truly
dumbfounded why I'm so interested in JFK, but oddly I am. I've read
several books about him and his family. I've watched a couple of

I really do think that someone other than LHO killed JFK. More and
more, I'm inclined to think LBJ had his hands in it all along, if not
at the forefront. There's just something about LBJ that totally rubs
me the wrong way... like a bad vibes, or a bad aura or something.
Then again, it really doesn't matter what I think... it's not like I
can do anything about it.

You're not "odd". It's history Girlie and you're interested, just as many
others are interested in history. At the time of the assassination, I was
15 and not into politics or history at all. I wasn't really too affected by
what happened then, but now years later I'm fascinated and realizing the
effect his assassination had on all of us. I firmly believe that there was
no "lone gunman" and that Kennedy was shot from the front and the back.
But, the head shot from the front is what killed him.

The head shot *is* the one that killed him, but there is a reasonable
explanation for any discrepancies people think they see. For example,
in one autopsy photo, you can see the entrance wound for the head shot
but the head looks relatively undamaged. The autopsy doctors have
explained that this was because for that photo, the damaged part of
the scalp was draped back over the wound.
Remember, in order to believe in altered photos, you have to believe
that all the doctors, secret service agents, law enforcement and
government officials who saw the wounds on 11/22/63 were in on the
conspiracy.
This and virtually every other controversy about the assassination is
answered in the very logical and comprehensive book mentioned by
Vampire Chick, "Case Closed" (Gerald Posner).
These conspiracy theorists believe that

No controversy here. Bullet fragments from the head shot dented chrome
and cracked the windshield in the limousine (there was no bullet
hole). There are photographs of all this.

There were numerous people outside Parkland Hospital immediately after
the assassination including members of the motorcade, secret service
agents, journalists, law enforcement and concerned citizens. I have
never read a claim that the limousine was driven away, then returned.
That certainly would've been noticed and reported by *someone,*
probably on that day.
How would the FBI agents have known which evidence to tamper with and
how, since they didn't know at that point what evidence had been
produced from the bodies of JFK and Gov. Connally who were in the
hospital?

The assassination is like the world's greatest mystery -- there are so
many facets to consider and it had such a profound effect on numerous
levels. It's no wonder you, me, and so many others, remain fascinated.
Given all I've read/heard,

It's tempting to think LBJ was involved. He was the Majority Leader in
the Senate in the 50's while Kennedy was a relatively junior senator.
A lot of people may forget that he ran for president in 1960 and lost
to Kennedy in the primaries. He certainly had cause for envy, and
stood a lot to gain. But when you read "Case Closed" and realize what
a loser Oswald was, it seems unlikely he would've been trusted by
anyone for such a major role.

Kris has a point. When you read about it, or look at photos, you get a
sense of distance between Oswald and events on the street. You know,
he's way up there in a building somewhere.
When you actually stand under the School Book Depository and look at
the window, it's an eye-opener. The sixth floor ain't all that far up,
and it would be quite easy to see someone standing in the window. A
number of witnesses did see the gun, and at least one guy saw Oswald
clearly, though unforunately he didn't say so to the officials at the
time. Oswald was massively lucky to remain relatively unseen and then
escape from the building.

I'm particularly interested in the ABC special tonight with Peter
Jennings. It features a computer animation which is supposed to
demonstrate the validity of Oswald as the lone assassin. Such
animations have been done before, but I saw a preview and this one
looks more realistic than ever.
