Is this somebody we're supposed to know about? I mean, if he's a
producer, what did he produce? Probably not so famous, since the police
obviously had no idea who he was.
Also, it seems he was wanted in the States, something to do with teenage
prostitution (boys).
Any thoughts?

MONTREAL, Dec 29 (Reuters) - A corpse found this month was identified by police
on Tuesday as convicted pedophile David Leigh Macleod, 54, an ex-Hollywood
producer under Oscar-winning director Warren Beatty.
Canadian fingerprint records had shown the body was that of Macleod, who fled
the United States in 1989 but was wanted by the New York Police Department and
FBI on pedophilia charges dating back 11 years.
A U.S. federal grand jury indicted the fugitive in absentia in 1993 for taking
six boys across state lines to have sex. His fingerprints were on file with the
Royal Canadian Mounted Police because he had a criminal record from the 1970s
stemming from sex offences involving children in Toronto.
Canadian media reported that Macleod was a first cousin of Beatty and actress
Shirley MacLaine.
The corpse was found on Dec. 6 near a railway and expressway overpass near one
of Montreal's poorer areas but police had been unable to identify the body at
the time.
Police said the cause of death remained under investigation by Montreal
authorities using toxicology tests. Foul play was not suspected and the
public's help was being sought to find out where Macleod had been staying in
Montreal.
"He had a coffee card from a Second Cup (cafe) and movie ticket stub, but
nothing telling us who he is or where he lived," police spokesman Jean-Pierre
Levis told Reuters.
Police had found a bottle of beer, a water bottle and a container of lighter
fluid near his body, but they could not say whether Macleod had died from a
lethal mixture.
Macleod was credited as associate producer of the 1981 movie Reds, for which
Beatty won an Oscar as Best Director, and Ishtar—a high-profile 1987 flop which
starred Beatty, Dustin Hoffman and French actress Isabelle Adjani.
The 15 charges against Macleod for endangering the welfare of children and
criminal solicitation followed joint efforts by a FBI and the New York City
pedophile task force.
Macleod disappeared in 1989 during a court appearance on New York state charges
that he had paid male minors for sex. He left the court to make a phone call
and never returned. Macleod had allegedly prowled inner-city housing projects
in the Bronx and Brooklyn and used cash to lure boys aged from 12 to 16 years.
Police said Macleod was born in Canada, but may have had dual citizenship.
