Protest Over Ass Comment on "Regis and Kelly"
Posted Oct 30th 2008 7:26PM by TMZ Staff

A donkey might be a good symbol for the Democratic Party, but that
doesn't mean Dominicans want to be compared to one on national TV.

Here's what went down. Kelly Ripa told a story on Monday about how one
of her 37 kids was learning about government and said the elephant
represented the Republicans and the donkey represented the Dominicans.
Regis then quipped, "She's pretty close." Ay, caramba!

A Dominican-American group is demanding an apology from the show,
claiming "host Regis Philbin practically agreed with laughter over
what the two thought was a joke."

Dominican-American and Latino leaders will stage a protest outside the
ABC studios tomorrow in NYC where the show airs.

Tomato, tomahto, Democrat, Dominican -- let's call the whole thing
off!

Actually I think when Regis thinks Dominicans, he's thinking about
Catholics!

First the flag burning eppy of 'Seinfeld' and now this. Seems like you
need to tread lightly around those Dominicans! :-)

HEY! Plus, they were second choice in the Magic Pan crepes restaurant
eppy (Kramer: "That's why you gotta get real Cubans."). Strike 3!!!!!
Your out!

So what's happening here? The Dominican American group thinks being
called Democrats is an insult?

The "Seinfeld" controversy was over the Puerto Rican flag.

Of the two countries on that island, the Dominican Republic represents
more traditional Democratic values while Haiti resembles a Republican
regime. The Dominican Republic has lush tropical forests. Haiti has
been clearcut. (Though the best president for the environment was a
"Republican": Richard Nixon). The current Republican ticket has Sarah
Palin who is extremely anti-environment. In Haiti, the richest 1%
control over 99% of the wealth, a Republican style economy where the
rich get richer while the poor get poorer (of course that also happens
with Democrats in charge, just not as much). In the Dominican, the
rich are generous in donating to the less fortunate, for example the
baseball stars (who earned their money from hard work, not inheriting
the money) donate huge amounts of time and money to worthwhile local
charities.

I'm not going to pull a "Wyle" and leave the USA for another country,
but if I did, the Dominican Republic would be my first choice. Lush
tropical forests, plenty of places to fish, many beautiful women (who
also have good personality/character, with traditional gender roles,
appreciating masculinity), nice weather aside from the occasional
hurricane, a relaxed atmosphere where one can lie in a hammock and
listen to baseball broadcasts, then can go into town and have friendly
arguments about baseball with the locals. Learning Spanish would be
the main requirement.

Kelly and Regis are idiots. Apparently Kelly's stupidity is
hereditary.

First, it's "You're"

Second, you've just done the same thing you accused the first person of
doing, and insulted all blondes.

Kelly Ripa is an insult to blondes, women, and human beings in general.
