Willie Nelson is still sounding misty about an affair he had with Honeysuckle
Rose costar Amy Irving in 1980.

"She was something else... and I'd do it again," Nelson says in the April issue
of Texas Monthly. The couple's offscreen romance blossomed on the set of the
movie while Nelson's 17-year marriage to his third wife, Connie Koepke, wilted.

But much like Nelson's fiscal status, the romance between the stars went bust.
Irving later married Steven Spielberg, and Nelson eventually met his fourth and
current wife, Annie. The country crooner and Annie have been together nearly 10
years now, which is the average length of time Nelson has spent with each of
his wives. Is he feeling the 10-year itch?

"Marriage gets easier as you get older," says Nelson, who recently put his
folksy charms to work portraying a songsmith in Wag the Dog. "There are still a
lot of temptations out there. Mother Nature has a way of checking our
appetites, but the girls still look good. If I stayed around in a hotel or bar,
the same thing would probably happen again." 裏Rich Brown

Willie does have some good points to him. I'm not sure exactly where he was
born and raised, but he has family close to my home town. His brother used to
frequent the little small town bar that I did when I was younger. (I never
believed the guy until he brought a snapshot of a Christmas celebration in with
Willie sitting on a couch with the brother and sister-in-law) Anyway, last
weekend I was in Hillsboro, Texas and passed by the old courthouse. The
courthouse is a historical building, built around the turn of the century. It
was a beautiful old building. It burned a couple of years ago and nearly
totalled the building out. Willie Nelson has been the driving force behind
raising the money necessary to restore the building back to its original state.
I can't imagine why he would care so much about that courthouse, unless he has
sentimental memories about being sent before the judge there in his youth!

Willie is from Abbot which is just south of Hillsboro. He keeps a house
there...
