I swore I would never ask this question about anyone, but this time I cant help
it.
Ive always been a fan of Peter Barton, good actor, nice person. Ive never
heard of him being married or connected with any woman. Is Peter gay?
Granted, it's really none of my (our) business, but if he is I wanna be sure to
pray he doesnt get AIDS or into any bad relationship.

He's the guy from "thirtysomething". I'm sure he's been doing stuff since
then but I haven't paid that much attention to him.

Wasn't that Peter _Horton_? (as Gary. Mel Harris as Hope etc...)

you can still pray for those things even if he turns out to be
straight, you know. although praying for shit like that won't do any
good since you're asking those things of God, not Santa Claus.

I'm sure you couldn't possibly have meant for for your post to be as
offensive as it came out.

I'm *sure* you know this already, but just because
someone is gay, that doesn't mean they are
automatically likely to get AIDS. One can
contract the HIV virus and not be gay at all.
Also, people of all sexual persuasions get
into bad relationships: gay, straight, bisexual,
asexual, etc.

OK, Michael, give. How does an asexual get into a bad relationship and
maintain their status as an asexual?

I won't speak for Michael, but clearly they do so by not
having sex. There *are* romantic yet non-sexual
relationships, you know.

Not according to my co-worker, an editor at Tiger Beat, who was boinking
him back in 1980-81. It was a pretty stormy relationship, and they got
into fights at the office.

So, if he turns out to be straight, you don't care whether he gets AIDS or
into a bad relationship?

Nope...he isn't I worked with Peter several years ago on Burke's Law...and met
a long time girlfriend..forgotten her name...but since the cast and crew were
fairly close...we hung out and they were a great couple. Of course because he
is seeing a woman means nothing...I am also basing this on knowing him well.
He does not strike me as the type who would feel the need to hide it..

His relationship with Lisa Rinna was of the heterosexual
variety, although who can really speak for someone's
potential bisexuality.

Yeah, what Craig said. I knew two people who
were in one of the most fucked-up relationships
I've ever been witness to, and they never had
sex with each other. And it lasted almost a year.
I suppose, technically, they weren't asexual--
neither was averse to sex itself--they just didn't
have it with each other.

IIRC, he was in a long term relationship with Lisa Rinna before she met Harry
Hamlin.

Yes, but they are usually due to a decision to be celibate on one or both
parts, not an actual asexuality.

Was this a romantic relationship? If so, what were they thinking?

As long as jewelry is involved, I see no problem with that.
