And by that, I mean I don't understand why he "coons" in his movies. I've
seen his standup---he's really funny, insightful, intelligent, and positive.
He seems like a good guy, and a role model for black kids. However, I've
seen him in a couple of movies, "Down to Earth" and "Head of State"---and
his performances were one step from minstrelhood, "Head of State"
especially. Now, I just finished watching "HoS", and I was ready to chalk
his coonish performance up to some white or Jewish director---but he
directed it himself. WTF? If a white guy wrote a script that buffoonish it
would be deemed racist. Why would someone as smart as Rock make such
degrading crap?

Tucker defended Wacko during his boy-diddlin' trial. He's a dumbfuck.

Why do you bother watching movies?

This would be the shortest answer I've ever given to a
question on Usenet, if not for the sentence you're reading now.

Imhotep,

He does that for the same reason that Oprah has white men and women on
day after day after day. She rarely shows the world intelligent,
thoughtful, African American men and women like myself, like Minister
Farrakhan, or Al Sharpton, or Jesse Jackson because she knows that her
white audience, not wanting to hear the truth about their devilish
behavior would abandon her in a heartbeat. Chris makes the movies he
makes because whites pay millions to watch him behave like that.

I can guarantee you if you ever met him in person he would rip you
apart verbally, and maybe physically too,if you approached him the way
you talk to black folk on this forum. :-)

Capisce?

That's why I like this medium. It's possible to instantly assess
someone as a retard and a liar and a charlatan. You never watch
Oprah, it's obvious. Instant knowledge about you, transmitted
instantly. And you can never recover your credibility.

I've been thinking the same thing for some time(and it came back
to me when I saw the trailer to I THINK I LOVE MY WIFE) and a lot of
you posters took the words out of my mouth. Anything Chris had done
after his HBO series has just downhill from there, at least EVERYBODY
HATES CHRIS has an air of nostalgia to it(which would only last so
long). Hopefully, Chris'll realize that fact and hopefully will "get
back to his roots" and go back to stand-up. But the only problem to
that is what he'll be doing when he does come back'll be nothing
compared to what he did back then.
