About French-born actor Alain Delon, popular in the 60s/70s ...

A book I have on cult movie stars states: "In France his fame grew
due to an affair with [actress Romy] Schneider, a major murder (of
his bodyguard) scandal, his acknowledgement that he'd been a
homosexual, and bizarre stories about his troubled past. Across
the pond, no one cared about his personal life or his American-
made movies."

Anyone know more about these "bizarre stories" and the scandals
referred to in the book?
