or so ago. Anyway, I read last year in one of the soap rags that they had hired
him back for a few episodes, apparantly as a cheap bid for numbers during

I think DOOL was going to try and rehab the character a bit (he was a
henchman at the time) but according to reports, Kristin Alfonso put her
foot down and demanded he be fired (she was worried he might have AIDS). So
much for DOOL's annual Day of Compassion episode. Of course no one at the
show had any problem letting Krista Allen continue on in the role of Billie
(Krista had done a number of soft core European films under the title
Emmanuelle I-IV or something to that effect). Griggs was let go right around
March of 1996. He did come back recently for a few episodes playing a
magician or something (I hover around the DOOL newsgroup but don't watch the
show).
Simon Rex, ex-MTV veejay and star of Jack and Jill, has a porn past. He's
addressed it in TV Guide (last year). Claims he did it because he and his
girlfriend (who was doing porn at the time) were broke and needed cash. She
convinced him to do porn (why not straight porn at the very least?) and he
did 3 videos whose names escape me. Rex is an idiot. Assuming his story is
true, what self respecting woman is going to want her man back after he's
done gay porn flicks? Anyway, she ended up leaving him not long after that
and he went on to model for Tommy Hilfiger probably never expecting to
become a minor or recognizable star. He did, and not long afterwards, his
porn past caught up with him. Though it didn't cost him a job with MTV, he
did a lose a job on a never filmed WB show called Zoe Bean. The producers
of that show rallied for Rex at the highest levels, but because the show was
being produced by Disney, Disney felt Rex's porn past would damage the
shows image (of course it was okay for Tim Allen to have done hard time for
cocaine and the director of POWDER to have been a child molestor, but I
digress).. The producers kept him in mind for a different show and now he's
on JACK AND JILL.

He didn't. He did J/O videos. He never had a partner, at least in the two I
have. In one of them he jerks off in front of a TV, on which porn is showing,

A bit part called Jude St.Claire. He looked like Basil St.John from the old
Brenda Starr comic strips with the eye patch and everything (Timothy Dalton,
the 4th James Bond), actually played Basil in a straight to video release

He may not have had a partner, but they are aimed, marketed, produced, sold,

Not the first time this has happened. In the late 1970's an actor
named Denis Parker who appeared on "The Edge of Night" (I believe)
also had a porn career (he appeared in the classic "Barbara Broadcast"
and, I've heard, gay films as well) under the name Wade Nichols.

Police Derek Mallory, was indeed the one who did some gay and straight

of that series also are listed as having died of AIDS-related illness
- Christopher Jarrett, who played Detective Damien Tyler, and Irving
Allen Lee, who played Detective Calvin Stoner.
