LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Cheryl Tiegs' fourth husband has filed for divorce and
asked for full custody of the couple's 1-year-old twin sons.
Yoga instructor Rod Stryker, 44, filed the divorce petition Wednesday in Los
Angeles County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences.
Stryker married Tiegs, who had been his student, in May 1998.
The couple used a surrogate mother to carry their twin sons, Jaden and Theo.
Tiegs, the 54-year-old model, also has a son, Zack, from her marriage to Tony
Peck, son of actor Gregory Peck.

Just a few months ago, A&E did a biography on her, and she and her husband were
gushing about each other and how they have such a strong relationship that's
going to last forever. It's funny how half that time you see celebrity couples
do this on TV, they end up splitting up within a year.
You mean like Tom & Nicole a month or so before they split?

Perhaps they are not "hers" biologically and therefore he thinks he is entitled

this whole topic is ringing a huge bell. Think, THINK. Wasn't there a nanny
or someone who sold her story or sued, and the gist was Cheryl kind of fobbed
the surrogate twins off on the help? She was very weird and disconnected as a
mother? I swear I remember a discussion of all this, more than having read
some "for sale" article in one of the tabloids and having it end there. And
the weirdness rang true, not like something you could make up, cause it was
just kind of "off" -- there was no real story or character "hook" to anything
Cheryl did, just the sense she was not exactly bonded with these babies, and
the employees found it very strange. Wasn't there some going over of that on
this newsgroup?
Wasn't there a post on here a few months ago about how the nanny complained
about how Tiegs virtually ignored the babies? And how they didn't even have
cribs at first?
Anyone else remember this?
P.S. I hope the father gets custody, because Tiegs just *looks* to me
to be so vacant behind the eyes, so disconnected, I hope the father
can be or is more of the loving person in the relationship.

He must have some major dirt on Cheryl if he is asking for full custody.

The babies were supposedly carried by a "surrogate mother." Given
Tiegs' age, it's virtually impossible that she was the egg donor.
Sounds to me like the man wanted his own genetic kids, hired a
surrogate carrier, got an egg donor, and the kids are his alone,
genetically. Tiegs probably has nothing to do with them, genetically or
emotionally.
And just why do these celebs insist on bringing children into these
brief relationships?!

here's part of that story:
Former supermodel Cheryl Tiegs expresses her maternal instincts in very strange
ways, say two former nannies.
The nannies were hired to look after the test-tube twin boys Tiegs paid a
surrogate mom nearly $50,000 to carry.
Caregivers Enid Gill and Sylvia Theus (Enid's daughter) were delighted when the
newborns arrived at the posh Bel Air mansion Tiegs, 52, shares with her
42-year-old fourth husband, Rod Stryker, a yoga instructor.
But despite their love for the twins, the nannies left just three days later.
"The whole situation was totally bizarre," says Enid, 51.
When Tiegs visited the tiny room the nannies shared with the babies, Sylvia,
25, says that "Cheryl would wander in, then leave and close the door, as if she
didn't want us and the babies to be part of the household."

I saw it. I thought it odd that some of the posts were asking questions after

Slebs aren't alone in this. Plenty of regular folks memorialize a brief
relationship with a hapless child. The girl across the street has four kids
by four different live-in boyfriends, none of whom are around now and none of
whom she married. Thank God she had her tubes tied after the last one, or
there'd be another by the new boyfriend.

She'll fight him on full custody though, because she'll have to pay child support.

That could be the real reason he's trying to get full custody--child
support $$$.

There are plenty of females who shack up with a guy they barely know
and end up getting pregnant. The scenario for an unwed mom with 2 or
more children by different boyfriends is almost a standard in my town,
and it still surprises me
what a female will do to trap a man into proposing to her. Most of
these women wind up as single parents but if they are fortunate, they
can manage to trick a decent man to live up to his moral obligations
and get him to marry her.
Celebrities sometimes live their lives above any standards just
because of the mere fact that they are celebrities and they feel they
wont be judged (and they are not.) They have these fast
relationships, and live-ins, then have kids because it seems like a
novel idea at the time, then break up. The problem is impressionable
girls who may look up to these celebrities figure if so-n-so has a kid
out of wedlock, it's good enough for them.
Hey - there are happy endings too. My husband has full custody of his two
children along with he and I having one together. It happens!
