HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - All Jack Wagner needs is a role on "The Bold and the
Beautiful." The veteran actor, who had a hit record in the 1980s with "All I
Need," is returning to daytime TV as a regular on the CBS soap opera. He'll
play Dominick Payne, a mysterious sea captain with a past that links him to
many of the central characters on the show.
"How Jack's character is woven into the existing storylines on our show is
going to be quite a surprise for our viewers," said "Bold" exec producer/head
writer Bradley Bell. "It will change the relationships of many of the existing
characters on the show."
Wagner shot to soaps fame in 1983 as Frisco Jones in ABC's "General Hospital."
In 1994, he jumped to prime time, spending five years as Peter Burns on the Fox
hit "Melrose Place."
The actor also had daytime gigs on the now-canceled dramas"Santa Barbara" and
"Sunset Beach." More recently, he starred in the Broadway production of "Jekyll
& Hyde."
"Bold," now in its 16th season, is the second most-watched drama in daytime.

I forget her name too, but yes, they divorced a little while ago. 2001/2002
or so.
A
Guess it might be weird for him to come back as he'd have to do tons of scenes
with her as they were married on the show (at least for a bit) and have a kid
on the show too...
wasn't there a blind item about him at once time?

Her name is Kristina Malandro Wagner.

Sorry to hear that somehow. They had been together for quite a while,
no?

No more fiendish punishment could be devised,
were such a thing physically possible,
than that one should be turned loose in society

RE Jack & Kristina Wagner
They'd tried to make it work several times. She took him back at least
once ... before.

Yes, 8 years I think? I remember thinking that it had been longer.
A
Seems to me they had been together since the 1980's, actually. That's
longer than 8 years! ;> They were a good-looking couple. Oh, well...
...missing the rest of this thread, but are you talking about Kristina
(Malandro) Wagner? I thought it was odd to see their tooth whitening
infomercials knowing that they had parted ways...

They must have been a couple longer - perhaps that's where our minds are
foggy. According to a fan site, they married in December 1993.
This site has an article from last years STAR:, quoted below.

Soap hunk Jack Wagner divorcing
Pals blame his womanizing
THE rocky seven-year marriage between Melrose Place hunk Jack Wagner and his
wife Kristina came to a crashing end when she slapped her hubby with divorce
papers.
And the only thing that has shocked pals is that Kristina put up with
his roving eye for as long as she did.
The split is no surprise to those who know Jack. He simply can't keep
his eyes on his wife. "It's as if he has a sexual compulsion and will never
change."
Wagner met his wife when they starred together as General Hospital
super-couple Frisco and Felicia, but didn't become involved until Kristina's
marriage to Robert Malandro fell apart in the late '80s.
Even as the duo became romantically entwined, insiders say Wagner, 41,
shamelessly chased other women.
In the notorious book You'll Never Make Love in this Town Again, former
Hollywood party girl Liza Greer writes about a torrid sexual encounter with
Jack while he was dating Kristina.
Despite the book's allegations, the couple stayed together and in 1990,
Kristina gave birth to their son Peter. Six months later, Jack left the ABC
soap - and his wife and child, moving out of their Bel Air home, sources
say.
"I was alone," Kristina recently recalled. "It was me and baby Petey."
The pretty actress was so heartbroken, she took a six-month medical
leave of absence from her ABC daytime drama.
Meanwhile, ladies man Jack worked on the soap Santa Barbara and was
linked to two co-stars, Nina Arvesen and Paula Irvine.
Despite his gallivanting, he and Kristina reconciled. They tied the
knot in Lake Tahoe in 1993 and a year later, a second son, Harrison, was
born.
He developed another passion that teed Kristina off - golf!
"He travels all over the country to take part in tournaments, leaving
his family behind," says another source.
Finally, citing irreconcilable differences, Kristina filed for divorce
in Los Angeles Superior Court, insiders reveal.
"Kristina," say the source, "has simply had enough!"

Here's some stuff I got from generalhospitalhappening.com in January
2003 & posted in another newsgroup:
Kristina didn't attend Real's event in August, but she was there in
spirit. Kin Shriner mentioned her and referred to Jack as her husband.
The Wagner boys appear to be following in the footsteps of their
father. According to Kristina's most recent e-newsletter, Peter (the
eldest) is a good musician and athlete, while Harrison (the baby)
who's also involved with sports (hockey), is a charmer.
Still no word on a Frisco return. Jack's been busy w/golf - he's a
spokesperson for a line of golf equipment, appears in a golf
instructional video, and was filming "Off Course" for ESPN. So far,
Heather Locklear, James Woods, Don Cheadle, Mike Ditka, John Elway,
Staind, John Daly, Jerry West and several others have appeared on the
show. The 1st season is being syndicated overseas. However, since the
show is currently on hiatus due to sports programming (NBA & NFL), he
could return as Frisco in the spring or summer.

Someone in that thread posted that they got back together the same
year
she filed for divorce and now SOD says that they don't know if the
divorce was ever finalized. I guess the Wagners didn't divorce after
all b/c Jack changed his behavior (it's about time). I think they
make a cute couple.
TThere has to be a connection between Jack returning to daytime, and
Kristina leaving GH at the same time. If they weren't together, she
probably would've stayed w/the show for financial reasons. Since
they're together, Jack came back, so she could leave. I wonder if
she's going to be a full-time mom or decide to join Jack on B&B or its
sister show Y&R?
