Hidden away in collections and inheritances are moments of Hollywood's
Golden Era. One of the most treasured artifacts has recently been released
for sale. It is the oil painting of Bette Davis as she appeare in the 1944
motion picture "Mrs. Skeffington." In the movie, the portrait hung above the
fireplace.
Jack Warner offered to buy the portrait back from Bette Davis for
$10,000. Howvere, Miss Davis gave the portrait to Perc Westmore, as a memento,
for making her look so beautfiul and glamorous for the Skeffington movie. Perc
Westmore was the head of make-up at Warner Bros. For many years the marvelous
portrait of Bette Davis was on display at the house of Westmore on Sunset Blvd.
The house of Westmore was the epicenter of Hollywood glamor. Robert Leslie
Hickman inherited the portrait from his mother, Ola Westmore, was how the widow
of Perc Westmore. Mr. Hickman is Perc Westmore's stepson.
This portrait is one of the most outstanding momentos of the Warner
Bros. era. It is a large painting and is in mint condition. It can be viewed by
