A Bangkok tabloid ran a photo of David Carradine's hanging body that was leaked
to them in this morning's edition. The rather disturbing photo definitely shows
the actor's hands tied above his head. There's something eerily off, here.
Carradine's death was originally thought to be caused by suicide, and then
accidental autoerotic asphyxiation as well. Carradine's attorney has already
cried out that both of these theories are wrong, and now, his family's trying to
get the FBI involved to determine whether his death was actually accidental or
the result of foul play. Results from a private autopsy - also enlisted by the
Carradine family - won't be available for a few days.
Which American gossip outlets are running the photo? Not TMZ, who won't go Faces
of Death for their readers, which is relieving and somewhat surprising. Not
P*r*z H*lt*n, who, besides not even being able to get Carradine's name right
(writing it as "Robert Carradine") would have to incur the wrath of his
righteous-outrage happy fans and the celebrities he kowtows to. They're going
with the family's outrage angle instead, as most news outlets will. Via Keith
Carradine, David's brother:
"The family wants it understood that, per attorney Mark Geragos, any persons,
publications or media outlets will be fully prosecuted for invasion of privacy
and causing severe emotional distress if the photos are published."
And no, we're not running the photo either. But one American outlet is: The Post
Chronicle. It's - from what I can tell - an ad-heavy, shoddy news aggregation
website based out of New Jersey. They've posted a photo of the newspaper, which,
while still not a perfect picture, paints it pretty clearly. And this is how
information that nobody else will want to touch - but still want to see - gets
out.
We've linked to the photo below. The picture, while slightly blurred and a
little shaky, is still obviously graphic, disturbing, and not something you
really want to look at on a Sunday afternoon.

I hate to have to point out the obvious, but I think that it
would be impossible nearly for someone to kill himself if his hands
were tied above him.
If his goal had been "autoerotic asphyxiation", which I doubt,
then how would he have reached "down there" with his hands tied?
Again, I seriously doubt this was suicide. I think the family
is right for wanting the FBI to investigate, and I think they ought to
be doing just that.
In terms of conspiracy possibilities, perhaps the Thai drug/organized
crime syndicates should be looked into. They could have motive to fake
a suicide in such manner. They'd likely also be tied up in the sex
trade scene too and would know about his supposed predilections, to
work with in an accidental death frame-up.
Ok, I looked. If his hands are tied as they appear to be, you are
right, there is little chance it was suicide. I hope they get to the
facts in this case. It disturbs me to have so many questions.
-----------------------------------------
Of course it wasn't suicide....but it's not murder, either.

They'll never stop the flood.
Why should they kill him?
That's the $10,000 question. Perhaps you might have some suggestions?

I'm sticking with accident, and the hooker ran away. Never attribute to
malice what can be explsined by stupidity.
Maybe the reason the hooker wasn't seen on the security tape was
because she was too short to reach camera range.
(Ok bad joke)

This is the alleged photo? pfft.
Radio, television, newspapers - magazines: it
wouldn't be interesting if they told the truth.

I didn't see anything off about it. Looked like he figured that as he
started to asphyxiate he would lift himself up with his hands so the
blood would flow again. Not the best plan.
Well, it is possible to tie your own hands like that with a slip-
knot...
but the question as to why still remains.
It seems like you'd have to be an escape-artist magician.
Seems like an awful lot of work to me...but that's just me.
It is strange, but stranger things have happened, and who knows, it
could be stranger.
Plus why both hands? If he tied the slip-knot to one wrist as a
"safety net" why did he tie both hands? Wouldn't he need one hand for
something else?
The body in the photo has dark hair. Carradine had gray hair. Had he
colored it for a movie or something?
Marianna
They blacked out the head.
Several websites claim that a higher-resolution image
of the Thai Rath photo shows Carradine in a woman's
wig and fishnet stockings....with a pair of women's red
panties on the bed. Looking at the picture again, it's
clear that there's a waistband and that the body is
darker from that point on. Lividity doesn't look like
that.
Carradine's hair was long but thin; even coloring it
wouldn't make it as solidly-dark as shown in the pictures.
It's also fluffy hair; Carradine's wasn't.

Okay, but the whole photo looks wrong. This person looks younger,
thinner, and darker, and how can the bed be in the picture if he was
found in a closet?

One report says he was wearing a dark wig and fishnet tights--which
would account for some of the appearance. This

it could have been accidental.

It also looks like a very cheap motel room, not the supposedly five-star one
he was staying in. That photo isn't him.
If the whole head, including hair, is blacked out of the photo, then
it could be anyone. I'm not taking it on faith that this is Carradine.
What seems more plausible at this point is that someone decided to
make some money off this by selling a generic flying dutchman death
photo based on the theory that Carradine was into autoeroticism.
Marianna
Um... because it's a phoney picture?
don' get it :(
Somebody wants to humiliate his family for some reason. Vengeful/

aura he had about him every time I saw him during interviews.

Then why would his family be so upset, and want the "picture

This IS TMZ, but wouldn't you think that *another* ex-wife, when
she stepped up, would complain that the woman who replaced
her was a liar? That's not what's happening. Carradine's third

A grainy photo published on the Saturday cover of
the Thai tabloid Thai Rath showed a naked body
suspended from a clothes bar in a hotel closet, hands
apparently bound together above the head and feet on
the floor. The face was blacked out and other areas
were obscured. According to the Associated Press,
Thai police believed it was taken by a member of
the forensics team.
The hotel:

An executive room:

Cheaply-made overseas filming doesn't mean that the
actors stay in the most expensive suites.
Kris
I guess you did.
That's a wierd lower-body discoloration pattern, isn't it?
It's a dangerous link... so why bother? Prolly some asshole trying to
infect everyone's computer, no doubt.
Carradine was in Room 352 (third floor).
The Executive Floor is the 5th.
Expedia and TripAdvisor have images of the hotel's rooms......
including an image of a room that's a twin to that shown
in the death photo:
http://media.expedia.com/hotels/1000000/10000/3600/3506/3506_24_b.jpg
Compare that to the image here (the "death scene" photo)
and you'll see the similarity. You can even see the built-
in bedside tables, and the horizontal (light switches?)
above them, in both pictures:
http://www.postchronicle.com/news/original/article_212235885.shtml
Note that the room shown above, is a mirror image of the
room shown on TripAdvisor. The Carradine photo was taken
looking directly at the foot of the bed, with the closet on
the left; this room has the closet on the right.

Remember those Drivers Ed crash films they showed in high school back
in the 60's?
Just barely. My biology teacher taught the course. His wife worked at
the courthouse. Why?

Here's the Smoking Gun documents for the divorce from his 4th wife:
http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2009/0605092carradine1.html
Some interesting stuff there. And his 5th wife and widow Annie
Bierman is a scientologist. Elsewhere it says she's an OTV (Operating
Thetan Level 5).
Yup. The 3rd and 4th wives confirm each other's stories.
Early on, I saw a link where David Carradine had performed
part of a Christmas program at the Co$ Celebrity Center.
Several here have claimed that the photo was faked, but the
link I found that shows an identical hotel room, pretty much
dispels that.
The Carradine family unwittingly confirmed that it was David
in the photos, in their claim. And who the hell would hire
Geragos?
Stuff happens, and sometimes it's embarrassing to families.

Okay, I'm convinced. I hadn't known about the ex-wife's statements
that he was able to tie himself up- that's pretty damning. Okay, okay,
ya got me. :)

Wasn't trying to. I just happened to run into that link at a
convenient time, and when else do two ex-wives corroborate

That crazy extreme kinky sex stuff is best left alone, in my opinion.

Thailand is the home of child prostition. Like I said, BAD JOKE! :P
The 3rd wife said it wasn't for sexual purposes though (the tying
up).
And the 4th wife hasn't specifid which deviant sex act she meant.
There are a bunch of them.
I'm curious if Barbara Hershey will talk.
And I'm also curious who the alleged incest victim is since it was
apparently an adult woman?
It's weird to see a picture like this of his current family.
http://www.bittenandbound.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/david-carradine-and-family-2006.jpg
Here's some older daughters with daddy.
do girls tie themselves up and hang themselves? or is that just a guy
thing??

------------
Sure sounds like it was one of his daughters. But the way it's worded the
victim could even be a male, and not nec a son of David. I mean, who knows?
David was one of many Carradine brothers...
jc
Yeah it could be a sibling or an Aunt too, cousin, nephew, anyone.
Even Martha Plimpton his neice.
The identity of the person will definitely come out. The odd thing is
that the court papers where the ex-wife says all this stuff were
supposed to be sealed. They were filed incorrectly by the court, which
is how the Smoking Gun got them. In general, I don't trust info that
exes give since they usually give it out in an attempt to get more
money. The ex was interviewed on Larry King today and she said she
didn't want to talk specifics "yet" - so I'm sure she'll give Barbara
Walters or someone like that an in-depth interview.

How does #3 say it wasn't sexual? She said "'Oh my God,
David, you got to be kidding me -- and I would (turn around
and) walk out. I would leave him to his own devices."
She wasn't there to watch, obviously.
Kris
Yep. She didn't get it and didn't want to get it, and he didn't part with
that last little bit of info before she, erm, left the building.
jc
Well....now that HE has left the building, she knows. Of course,
since all the stories about her mention "auto-erotica", perhaps
she'll take "Sex Games for $50, Alex".
Kris
Speaking of which, have you ever watched White Men Can't Jump? Rosie Perez
is SO good in her quest to be on Jeopardy!
jc
If I could digitally replace Woody Harrelson with another actor,
I'd watch the whole thing. I've seen some of Rosie's bits, and
they're great....but I have to change the Woody.
Kris
I don't have feelings toward him either way, but he too did a good job in
this movie. Just happened to catch it the other day. Never see RPerez around
anymore. Oh well. nuff of this OT stuff cluttering the thread.
jc
