20/20. I wonder if she feels embarassed that ME has told the whole
world that she molested her four 4 years. I guess they aren't on
good terms anymore. Good interview with ME, but I wish it could've
been longer. I wonder how Lou Diamond Phillips feels about what Julie
Cypher did to her? He's having the last laugh on ME now, I guess.

I never knew that Julie had an affair with KD, (learned this a few days ago)
but according to the interview ME "allowed" the affairs with both KD and a man?
In the interview it sounded like Julie asked ME, "hey can I do this?" Maybe I'm
not following what she said correctly.

I read in People that her sister, Jennifer, is a homemaker in Arkansas.

According to her book, ME was not at all happy about Julie sleeping with k.d.
or the guy (she only found out Julie slept with the guy five years later) - she
did not say that she "gave permission," just that she listened to Julie tell
her about these attractions and didn't more forcefully try to stop Julie or
leave because she couldn't handle being without Julie then.

I remember thinking that maybe Melissa has a more relaxed view
anyhow when it comes to sex and sexuality. Recognizing Julie hadn't
really explored her sexuality and she had, maybe she wanted to give
Julie a chance to. It is well reported that Melissa prior to Julie had
several love affairs and was not monogamous. Perhpas Melissa E.
identified with Julie's desire. I also have to honestly wonder if
Melissa E. ever had an affair in these 12 years?? I wonder if for a
time they both had something with kd, as a couple. As far as I know
Melissa E. considered Kd a friend.
It may also be true that she feared losing Julie and thought if she
gave Julie permission to stray once in a while that Julie would be
more willing to stay in the relationship.

Yeah.. that would have been interesting. Melissa's only reaction in the
interview was something like "and what am I supposed to do with that?" For some
reason it felt strange to choose this interview to ask Melissa when she knew
she was gay and how her father reacted, etc. Those might be good questions to
ask about 15 years ago. They just seem like such basic and generic questions
for a show like 20/20. I guess if people have never heard of her, they make
sense...

something like four years and the molestation took place when ME was 4-8 and
her sister 8-12. ME even said to some it might look like they were just
playing "doctor" but it was very embarassing for her. I'm not defending her
sister, but I really don't think anything evil was intended. However, it does

Melissa and her sister is immense, when talking about force.
You don't believe an eight year old can kill a four year old?
A bigger sibling, can force the smaller child to do almost
anything. Again, how does an eight year old become angry
enough to abuse a smaller child?
Interesting that her older sister who is married and has a
home, would still NEED financial support, as per the promise
to their father. And have so little self respect that she
would take it from someone who clearly resents it. It doesn't
sound like it's the money that's Melissa's problem though,
it's the injustice.
As for just playing "Doctor", what was actually done is
completely irrelevant. Melissa was clearly traumatized by
whatever happened. It was abuse. End of story.
And, would you have called the exact same acts "just playing
doctor" if the "Doctor" had been her grandfather, not her
older sister? With all due respect, your dismissal of
Melissa's intentions being about selling books is one of the
reasons why child sexual abuse is rampant. I think she's
brave. This isn't a pretty thing to talk about, and I'll bet
extremely painful..
