yay, Juanes! so glad to see him get the recognition he deserves. too
bad the Academy was so damned rude to Gustavo Santaolalla when Juanes
gave him some of the mic time so he could make his own speech.
pendejos!

>Best Rock Album by a Duo or Group with Vocal: ``Revolucion de Amor,'' Mana

Mana is okay, but Molotov's album was incendiary and by far the best
album nominated in that category (one of the best this year, in fact).
i wish Molotov would have gone more balls-out in its performance and
played "Changuich a la Chichona" or "Frijolero" (or even its old hit,
"Puto"). the censors wouldn't know what hit 'em :-D as it was,
George Lopez was able to slip a "cabron" through without getting
beeped (okay, where i grew up, "cabron" was a bad word, hee, although
i know it means something less dirty in different Spanish dialects).
but what's even funnier is that the censors were sooo hyped to catch
Molotov that they bleeped out lines that are basically inoffensive
just because they came before and after the f-words and such.

>Best Rock Song: ``Mala Gente,'' Juanes

not that i begrudge Juanes any of his success, but i would have liked
it if La Ley had won here for "Amate y Salvate" because that? is a
great song!

>Best Music Video: ``Frijolero,'' Molotov

if only they'd awarded that one on camera! although they probably
still wouldn't have shown what was on the band's shirts (they don't
always have "dirty" words on their shirts, but some of it is damn
funny).

>Best New Artist: David Bisbal

he's cute, and he's talented, but seriously? even Ricky Martin isn't
doing Ricky Martin any more.

was very disappointed that Jorge Moreno wasn't in the Celia Cruz
tribute since they'd sung together before and she was a bit of a fan
of his. actually, the whole tribute was a little lame, IMHO, but at
least they did something for her.
