It was 2 months ago today, that Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords was brutally gunned down, while she was holding a "Congress on Your Corner" town-hall-like meeting in Tucson, Arizona.

Several months that were leading up to this barbaric and bloody
attack, at attack that was directed right into the heart of America's
democratic system of government, the Republican whores were more rabid
than ussual in their bidding for the health insurance industry, as
they flooded the airwaves (especially thru FOX and the AM hate radio
band) with an endless stream of vitriolic hate filled propaganda, such
as calling Obama "Hitler" and comparing Democrats to "Nazis".
Meanwhile the American public were fed a constant propaganda barrage
of blatantly ballistic language, ballistic rhetoric, and ballistic
allegories, with the deliberate aim of inciting violence against those
who support health care reform.
Incendiary rhetoric combined with bigoted hate and with one outrageous
lie after another, is actually standard operating procedure with
Republicans, they operate this way at all times anyways, but they were
especially fired up with their rabidity during the health care reform
debate, a non-sensical debate that we might as well have had with an
insane psycho like Muamar Qaddafir or Usama bin Laden, with the
Republicans claiming that health care reform will lead to "death
panels", and abortions, and the loss of freedom, and the loss of jobs
and genocide and the end of all life in the universe, and on and on.
This is how Republicans framed the debate, with all their arguments
coming straight out of a mental assylum that should be reserved for
the criminally insane. Therefore it shouldn't surprise anyone that a
typical gun toting wing-nut, in a typical gun toting wing nut State
like Arizona, would take up the cue of these Republican haters and
start a HORRIBLE massacre that is directed against "the liberals".
On January 8, 2011, Gabby Giffords was visciously assaulted, shot
straight in the head, at close range, with the bullet piercing the
left/front side of her skull, going clear thru, and exiting the back
side.
Gabby Gifford was the obvious target of this very barbaric attack, but
by some miracle of God she managed to survive. 13 others were also
injured. 6 died. Among the dead was a 9 year old girl (Christina-
Taylor Green), and a 63 year old Federal Judge (John Roll).
Only days before the shooting, Gabriel Giffords expressed some major
concerns over the heated political rhetoric surrounding health care

If there was anything good to come of that tragic shooting, in the
State of the Union address which Obama gave on January 25, 2011,
Democrats sat next to Republicans, rather than in segregated opposing
sections as they had in the past. If this new found civility becomes
a regular feature, then it would be more likely that our government
representatives would work together, solve our nation's pressing
problems, together, rather than childishly sit in completely opposite
ends of a court where they throw mudballs at each other, as they have
been doing leading up to this barbaric massacre.
Republicans, Democrats and Independents need to talk to each other,
learn from each other, find common ground, and work together, in a
civilized/productive manner. As it turns out, this is EXACTLY what
Gabriel Giffords wanted, more than anyone else, based on her own e-
mails and contacts and phone calls and writings, she often expressed a
fervent desire to facilitate the different political parties so that
they can come together and work together at solving the nation's
pressing problems and she wanted, more than anyone else to establish
bipartisanship and civil discourse. Here is to hoping that her dream
finally comes true.
Whenever there is civil discourse, something amazing begins to emerge,
the TRUTH. Which is to say that...
* we should do something about a broken health care system that
sidelines and ignores the mentally ill, the mentally disturbed, such
as those suffering from depression, schizophrenia, e.t.c.
&
* we should do something about the easy availability of guns for
people who should never have them.
&
* we should do something about the violent rhetoric heavily in use by
today's Republican wing-nut establishment.
There are some very gory and bloody scenes, from the site of the
massacre, in Tucson, Arizona, 2 months ago today, that have actually
been hidden from public view. There are still some more horrifying
pictures of Gabby struggling for her life, her sanity and dignity, at
a Houston hospital, still hidden from public view, as she hangs on to
life, with her skull half removed, and with IV tubes injected into her
arm so she can get medicine, and with breathing tubes cut into her
throat so that she can breathe, and with feeding tubes cut into her
stomache so that she can get nutrients, e.t.c.. But we have to
respect her privacy and that of her family, if they don't want to show
us those pictures, which we all hope and pray will soon be behind her
and that she will soon recover.
God willing, we all hope and pray that she makes a speedy recovery and
gets back to normal soon. But to imagine those heart wrenching
pictures, that no one can see, it's really something that we should
all ponder, if we are to know what the shocking side effects are of
the Republican assault on our democracy as they unvaryingly continue
to spread their hate and their lies. Think about it.
