Listening to him talk, it reminds me of Bush. This guy paints
EVERYTHING in the EXACT opposite of reality. The exact OPPOSITE !
For a democracy to work, people have to be well informed, and I have
to say, where is the media to correct this guy's mistatements and
inform the voting public? I mean this guy tells a thousand lies with
every second that he opens his mouth. I think the problem here is
that it's hard to keep up with the lies when the lies are lies that
accumulate in Google fashion, constantly growing and muliplying out of
bounds with every mili-second.
Let me see if I can take some time off from my busy day to go up
against just some of this behemoth which stinks to the high Heavens.
Gov. Scott Walker has been repeating over and over again that public
employees are paid more than private employees. And that's typical of
what comes out of Republican mouths these days, across the board,
EVERYTHING they say is the EXACT opposite of the truth (remember the
"WMDs" and "death panels", e.t.c.)
There have been several studies that have found that, when you look at
the wages in specific employment categories, employees in the public
sector are actually paid less than employees in the private sector.
Jeffrey Keefe, an associate professor in labor and employment
relations at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J., looked at the
compensation for public servants on a national basis, using data from
the Bureau of Labor Statistics. After accounting for factors such as
education, gender, and hours of work, he documented that civil
servants are not overpaid and in many cases make below the wages
earned by their counterparts in the private sector. The only places
where they are a bit closer to being paid the same are in places where
there is collective bargaining, but they are still paid less anyways.
Despite all that, people choose public sector work, because they want
to serve the public. Teachers, for example, they don't care so much
about making money, they care more about educating our children.
According to Ethan Pollack, of the Economic Policy Institute,
Wisconsin public employees are paid considerably less than the
private sector are paid for doing the same exact work. The study
showed that about 60% of full-time public sector workers hold at least
a four-year college degree, compared with only 30% of full-time
private sector workers here in Wisconsin (for the rest of the country,
the figures are pretty similar: 54% of full-time state and local
public sector workers hold at least a four-year college degree,
compared with 35% of full-time private sector workers). The vast
majority of the public workers here in Wisconsin have a bachelor's
degree or more, and they are compensated between $20,000 less and
$82,000 less than what the private sector are paid for doing the same
exact job.
That's right! Public workers are not idiots, for the most part, they
have advanced college degrees (like I do). It is Scott Walker who is
the idiot, in fact, he's the only Governor we've had in Wisconsin in
more than half a century who does not even have a college degree. How
did such a complete idiot manage to get elected Governor here?
Simple, he got a lot of help from those fascist billionaire bastards,
the Koch brothers. Throw a couple of hundred million dollars my way,
and even I can win the Governorship of this State, or any State for
that matter.
As soon as he took power, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker gave out more
than $137 million in tax cuts for the rich...and voila! What do you
know? As it turns out, we are $137 million in the hole in the current
budget. Instead of rescinding those disasterous tax cuts for the rich
which the rich do not even need, he is instead proposing to bust the
unions. This guy is just as EVIL as George Bush, or just as STUPID,
you decide.
Back in the 1950's, if you had a job, any job, you could afford to buy
a house, support a family, send your kids to college, and still have a
hefty savings account available for your retirement. Those were the
days, when the American economy was at its Zenith. Back then, more
than one-third of the American work force was unionized. But, over
the years, because of this constant Republican assault upon our
unions, less than 7% of the country's private work force is
unionized. And the few remaining unions are much weaker than they
used to be. As a result, wages have gone down, for EVERYONE (union
and non-union alike), when you adjust for inflation. Our country's
economy has changed to the point where today, it's not like the
1950's, if you have a job, any job, it is not even enough to live the
American dream any more, the husband has to work, and the wife has to
work too, just to make ends meet, and then the couple can not even
afford to have children, let alone afford to send their children to
college, e.t.c. America's standard of living has declined
dramatically BECAUSE of the anti-American, anti-worker policies of
today's fascist funded Republican party.
Back in the 1950's, more than one-third of the work force in our
country was unionized. Today, less than 7% of the private work force
is unionized, but for the public work force, about one-third are still
unionized (and now the Republicans are taking aim at the public sector
too).
Republicans keep harping about the budget problems that we currently
have, and they use that as an excuse to bash the heads of the poor and
the middle class. Let me remind everyone that we did NOT have budget
problems until AFTER the Republicans stole the election in 2000. Al
Gore won the election in 2000, but the partisan conservative "activist
judges" on the Supreme Court decided that forget the vote count, they
said it doesn't matter that Al Gore got the majority of the votes,
they said that Bush should be President, even though he was CLEARLY
not qualified to be President. If we had risen up, like they did in
Egypt and Tunisia, then we wouldn't be suffering from this horrible
economy which we are suffering from right now. When Bush stole the
Presidency in 2000, we had a surplus and we had a great economy, with
lots of jobs, e.t.c., but Bush immediately destroyed our economy by
instituting huge tax cuts for the rich, creating immediate deficits,
huge and growing deficits, which are still growing to this day, thanks
to the enemies of democracy in America, the fascist Republican
party.
We bailed out Wall Street, we bailed out Goldman Sachs, we bailed out
GM, we bailed out all those rich and corrupt fat cats who finance
these fascist Republicans, and now it really should not be surprising
these same fascist Republicans are completely unable to comprehend the
need to bail out our teachers, our fire fighters, our nurses, our city
workers, our state workers, e.t.c.
Egypt should inspire Americans and the labor movement. Unions need to
work like corporations in some ways, because the world has become a
globalized economy, so unions need to show acts of solidarity not only
across the United States, but across the world.
Right now, our economy is NOT doing badly for the rich, in fact,
corporations are sitting on record high profits, and instead of
investing that money in creating more jobs or investing in paying
workers more, they are instead just SITTING on those trillions of
dollars of profits, and they are NOT sharing that money with the
workers who have helped them make those profits.
Watch this/these videos below, in fact, two-thirds of U.S.
corporations do not even pay any taxes at all, I'm not kidding, two-
thirds of U.S. corporations do not even pay any taxes at all:

How does slavery affect the cost of government?

It does nothing to the cost of government, now will you answer my question?
Slaves don't collect wages or benefits, moron.
Using slaves to provide government services doesn't cost less than
using paid employees??? Really?
You're a moron.
