But it sounds more like a blast from the past!

Yes. It seems like hardly anyone comes here anymore. Some of us are
hanging out on Facebook these days.
Yes, Mr Froggy Funky mentioned that some while ago.
I suppose I might get round to setting up a Facebook page one day,
but I suspect it would probaly be too time consuming for me to keep
up with. Newsgroups are dead these days, sadly, but they did have
the great vrtue of being easy and quick to skim through and keep in
contact with people. Back in the day,I had no trouble in keeping up
to date with several dozen different newsgroups with hugely differing
subject matter, and probably exchanged thoughts or comments with at
least 50 people on a fairly regular basis. It didn't take up too
much of my day, either.
Anyway, how's things? Are you still in Denver? I'm in the process
of moving house at the moment - leaving the South of England for the
North of Scotland next Friday, something I've been wanting to do for
a while. It's a 650-mile trip, which is a big deal for our tiny
little island!

I don't think facebook is too bad as long as you stay away from the
games and other apps. It might also help if you don't add too many
friends.
Yes, I'm still in Denver. There's not really much going on these
days.
The North of Scotland sounds cold to me. I think I'd be more inclined
to move south. :) I've still never been to the UK or the rest of
Europe. I'll have to figure out a way to get there sometime.
It can be cold, but I'll be on the coast which is a tad warmer.
We'll have to figure out a way to trade places - I'd love to get to
visit the US!
