It was allays a bandaid solution. But it moved to a scam when some of the fossils got behind it.

In AUS the "industry backed" carbon offset scheme is reportedly 80% ineffective.
Projects are being paid millions to
sequester carbon but sat pix show the trees that are there now in many cases were there 20 y ago.
In some cases there is less veg
than 20y ago.

Offsets is a 300 lb guy that eats 20 chock bars a day promising to walk an extra mile each day so he can keep eating his candy.

The only way to stop low C13/C14 carbon polluting the atm
and ocean is to dam well stop digging it up.
Pref stop diggin it up 30y ago.
