Hitler said he wanted peace, not war, but his economic
turnaround for Germany consisted of mostly war production. Germany
thus HAD TO either sell off such production to paying countries, or
have a war of conquest itself in order to possibly "profit" from that
supposed economic boon.
Of course, what that means is that Hitler understood he
couldn't say right away that he wanted a war, and was lying when he
said he didn't.
