The British government is still responsible, as far as I know, for Gib's
internal security. In light of their propaganda, is Gib's internal
security meddled with and how much of the spin on truth is believed here
and how much does it affect people here?
Good question;
The register is always an interesting read, however I wonder
if the 'Duncan Campbell' refered to is a forensic expert or
'dodgy Duncan' the investigative journalist
Gibraltar's internal security is probably better than most
places as its small and the borders can be controlled. Thanks
to the wakeup call from the IRA we know bad things are
possible, and with the withdrawl of the resident UK troops
the potential targets are more easily protected.
Much of the traditional infrastructure has gone and been
replaced, for example this week

Would indicate that HF radio is no longer seen as important.
The UK has woken up to the need to protect its infrastructure
and the recent 'attacks' are very tame compared to the
sophistication of an IRA ANFO truck bomb.
In the technically dumbed down UK CCTV state being mildly
subversive must be very hard, and require much more
imagination than is available to religious fanatics.

>:D Excellent.
And I am not growing ricinus communis on the
patio either ... or any of those other plants
that seem to thrive around town.
It doesn't on a day to day basis. Jim's expanded far better than I could.
The article makes an error in its opening sentences. Sharks do NOT need to
swim continuously in order to stay alive. True they lack the gill
flap-pumping musculature that other fish have to ensure a flow of water over
the gills. Indeed sharks have no gill flaps, but gill slits. However this
does not prevent sharks from ensuring a flow of water over their gills. When
a shark opens its mouth, water enters through the front. The gill slits
collapse inward and prevent water entering the mouth through there. On
closing the mouth, water is forced out through the gill slits aerating the
gills. All a shark has to do to stay alive (by "breathing") is to open and
close its mouth continuously. If that seems hard work ask yourself this -
when did you ever take any significant time off from breathing? Exactly -
it's made to work that way. Sharks, having been around with a design
basically unchanged for around 100m years can hardly be said to be
unsuccessful!
