Incidentally searching around on google they seem to be
the only people with a genuine looking Gibraltar flag,
the rest have that bloody stupid wrong angled castle on them.

Yes.
It was the better flag as the dream from offshore banking in a independend
Gib with water from spain.
Unfortunately the flagshop has only a Canadian Blue Ensign.

I think that has lost something in the translation, intelligibility;

Perhaps you could explain it better so I can disagree :)

Apart from the cost factor, Gibraltar water is more reliable than that
in Spain, where I remember summers where they had none.

To be honest I thought the blue ensign was the same whatever;
try asking that flag company, I'm sure they can manufacture
whatever.

The independence from spain water is a part of the real independence of Gib.
You have two seawater-desalination facillitys (one military and one
cilvilian)The water conduit in the rock make coasts. Shure. But it looks
like that the coast payed the MOD.The tunnels which not are in use are
properties of the MOD.
No idea how much the gouverment from a independent Gib, whithout the MOD,
will have to pay for all facillities in the rock they need.
Last : Keep Gibraltar british. And under this aspect is the Gibraltar Blue
Ensign the better flag as the red castle from coat of arms.
My opinion. But fortress and mythos from Gib knows everybodyand that is the
engine not the cigs and the whiskey from mr. Stagnetto:)

Firstly the Gibraltar Government has not got an agenda of independence
as such however, modern thinking requires that all Government is
answerable to the people.

>The independence from spain water is a part of the real independence of Gib.

Agreed, and that is why we have TOTAL independence for Spain in
terms of Electricity and water.

Yes and no, there certainly are two seperate water supplies, the
civilian one is funded totally by its users.

Who would we 'pay' the rock is ours.

>Last : Keep Gibraltar british.

We certainly intend to do so. However, one has to ask what
that means. It does not mean that we should be a colony or
that we are Governed and controlled by unelected politicians
like Jack Straw. Gibraltar is British because the Gibraltarians
are British. They are born in British hospitals, go to British
schools, the clever ones go to British universities etc

None of this means that we cannot appreciate Spanish
culture and enjoy those things that are good about Spain
as indeed do a lot of British, German and other Europeans
who live there or visit on holiday.

Its not one generally shared locally, where we are very
attached to 'our' flag.

However, I believe the Blue ensign is the appropriate flag for
shipping. I've got two Union Jacks, and two Gibraltar flags
and thats enough flags for me !
