How do you think, is it possible to find modest flat in Gib with
monthly rental fee of 500 GBP?

Modest. Yes, but unlikely through an agency.

However, this link will take you to many agencies that are listed in Gib
Yellow Pages website.

Some of the sites' pictures might contravene any trading description
laws, if there are any to contravene.

in the local free paper : fridayads (there is a web site but I don't
know the address and it always seems to take me to the UK...)

...and in the Gibraltar Chronical there is an ads section.

Otherwise, you could always rent in La Linea and commute over the border
into Gib.
