Jim will respond in due course. What tends to happen from time to time is
that the Cable Car, like any piece of machinery, needs servicing. Round
about this time of year, when demand is at its lowest, is when it gets shut
down for a day or two here or there to permit inspections / repairs etc to
be carried out. Of course that is not to say there is NO demand on those
days, but the off-season tourist could by pure coincidence have picked on
the day in question to go for a ride.
