What was it? News report/programme? What was it saying?
- A lot of smuggling (of both people and drugs) happens accross 'the
Strait of Gibraltar' - where the north of Africa comes closest to
Europe. But it is all direct from Africa to the fast Spainish coastline
- the sumgglers arn't stupid enough to land in Gibraltar, they'd only
face the hastle of having to smuggle it straight out again accross a
well policed border!

Probably this, however that guy is a bit stupid
DOCUMENTARY: Banged Up Abroad
On: five (105)
Date: Monday 16th October 2006
Time: 22:00 to 23:00 (1 hour long)
Donald and Denis's Story.
Documentary telling a true-life 'Midnight Express' story, following
the experiences of Donald, a freelance yachtsman who found himself
hired to navigate a nightmare journey that would end in one of South
America's most dangerous prisons. He was delighted to get a call
from two distant acquaintances asking him to help them sail a boat
from Rhodes back to the UK, but he soon realised that there was more
to the trip than met the eye. (Stereo, Last In Series, Subtitles)
++
As you point out, nobody lands contraband in Gibraltar when Spain
has a larger coastline and provides an easy gateway to Europe.
