Then why do you bother Jim? is life that boring in Glasgow that
you have to infest a Gibraltar group ? On yer bike.
I am here as a public service to provide an opposing view of Gibraltar from
someone who has been visiting since 1966...what is the problem with that ?
.......and people if you want to be bored try a fortnight in Gib....don't
say I did not warn you ! ....
>I am here as a public service to provide an opposing view of Gibraltar
More like a public convenience.
However let me remind you that the terms of use of this newsgroup
specify that it is a pro-Gibraltar group, and not for emiittered
detractors.
Just propaganda... one sided waste of time then ? ....... not worth
reading.....
Why oh why does EVERY thread have to descend ultimately in a slanging match
of the Jims? I can imagine why very few people hang around here.
K
Let ut suppose for one minute you are absolutely correct. That does mean
that you have to wade in and criticise EVERYTHING that goes on in Gib as a
result? Who do you think has been dragged into disrepute as a result of your
actions?
K
If there is a fault, you can see the faulty component in the mirror.
K
I don't have a reflection .... :~)=
Then you are not a person, you don't exist, you are the weakest link.
Goodbye.
K
I do live in Gibraltar, the other Jim lives in Glasgow and came here a
few times and grumbles and bitches about it because he lacks a life.
best ignored.
There are a number of small design consultancies, and architects.
Although a few miles from Africa, its a world away for some new
buildings and work in progress on constructing an antificial island

And he can't spell......artificial......
Has reclamation finished on this project now? When I was last there in July
the silt created played havoc with visibility when diving.

No, its still ongoing. The picture was taken from the top of the ramp
of HMS Illustrious last month. Its coming on well though. Actually
all the buildings in the background are on recently reclaimed land.
Yes yes - but I was asking about The Island in particular. When up the Rock
and looking down on the area concerned, you could see a plume of silt
exiting the harbour through the south entrance and heading south towards
Rosia. The visibility all along the artificial reefs there was very poor,
and th eonly sort of photography that was possible was verging on macro.
Have a look at http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/gibdivetrip

I look forward to the time when they might stop the infill, as the
cloudiness will settle soon thereafter. Building on the island itself would
have no detrimental effect as regards visibility.
K
I'll be seeing the engineer in charge on Sunday so will ask him.
