So, I read in the Guardian
http://sport.guardian.co.uk/news/story/0,,2201691,00.html
and Panorama
http://www.panorama.gi/localnews/headlines.php?action=view_article&article=2724&offset=0
that UK MPs are v worried about corruption in UK sport as manifest in the
various gambling activities among sportsfolk. The Guardian quotes a Dept of
Culture Media and Sport spokesperson as having said "There is no doubt that
our rules preventing betting cheats are some of the toughest in the world.
We believe it is right that sports bodies and bookmakers should share
information."

So, in order to rein in cheats the UK places hard rules and regulations in
place, wants everyone to squeal on everyone else, and wants others to do
similarly.

Anyway, I hope that Gib tells the UK where to get off. Or better still, how
about the UK gets proactive about getting Gib into UEFA and FIFA, after
which the UK could count with Gib's full cooperation? After all the FA
hindered Gib's application to UEFA, why should we bend over backwards now
that they need us?

That 'certain reputation' is a myth promoted by the
Spanish Government as an attempt to undermine the
Gibraltar economy and supported by trolls like
Antony Willis a bitter little shit who dares not

Perhaps we should rename this NG as alt.spain you seem to talk about Spain
more than Gibraltar!

This NG is about Gibraltar isn't it?

Why is Gibraltar scared of tough laws to fight financial crime?

We need them because we live adjacent to one of the most

SPAIN.

Perhaps Jim Watt is trying to divert a thread that has got nothing to do
with Spain in order to cover up truths a bit nearer to Gibraltar?

This is about GIBRALTAR and Gibraltar's lax laws about internet gambling.

Absolutely nothing to do with Spain, nada.

her political ambitions over my home. Gib is not afraid to fight financial

OECD and IMF for example. I suppose you;d rather believe the Sp lies than
these bodies' reports.

No-one seems to care. Apart from us, the Portuguese, Moroccan and French
(curiously all those who have them as neighbours) the Sp are seen as a
fun-loving sunshine state where the rivers flow with Sangria. It hasn't
occurred to the tourists how much they're being overcharged for red wine so
nasty it has to be let down with lemonade!

I could rant on about high prices & either low quality or small portions
or general poor attitude to tourists in Spain...
The EU cares little about the interestes of 30,000 people who have
little resources verses 40 million Spaniards. Their GDP is a bit higher
than Gib's so their interests will be higher on the agenda than Gib's.
Its always about trade.

They march into places the offer an incentive. Its about trade and oil
is getting rarer and rarer.

The UAE are investing into tourism business parks and riche lifestyles
for good reason. Their oil is running low.
