There's a point to this post, hehe. My father decided to spend lots of money
splurging on satellite TV, so I now suddenly have access to RAI (Italy) and
TVE (Spain), plus the usual BBC America. If I see any Gib-related
programming, I'll let you know. :) Simply overwhelmed. I think there is a
thing as too much TV, and the usual 4583948 channels and nothing on. I have
nice memories of finding something all the time with our five channels back
when i was a kid, lol.

Indeed there was. It was often the case that you may have watched an
interesting programme on tv the night before, and the following day at
school or work you could discuss what you'd seen with some others who'd
watched the same. Now you try that discussion and the likelihood is NO-ONE
has been watching the same channel. It used to be said that tv stifled
conversation. It certainly does now - and as you say, umpteen channels
showing nothing!

In the case of Gibraltar, satellite tv has certainly made a difference
I remember GBC shutting down at 11pm and showing films on a saturday
that were so awful one wondered where they came from.

Then there was TVE and where I didn't understand the language that
shut down at midnight there was Maroc TV where the pictures were
hard to understand too.

Now thanks to Sky News we can watch all sorts of things live as they
happen, and the BBC provide some decent programmes.

Its also relaxing to watch snow falling in Poland as we are deprived
of it here.

And, one can buy a complete satellite setup from LIDL for under
100 euros Larry !

The thing I like best though is listening to Radio three - when I was
in the UK passing mopeds caused interference to the antenna in the
loft and here its crystal clear.

You won'r find GBC on satellite, but you can listen to GBC radio
on the internet at www.gbc.gi
