Yeah you get a lot of that from people phishing as its known in the
trade. Also from 'banks' you haven't got an account with, Ebay etc
Its like the virus that sends messages to run an attachment from
'the support team at <whatever domain>' which is amusing when
you are it.
Sometimes the sites are still online, you can enter bogus account
numbers to make their day and then report it to the address given
on the real paypal site as an active fraud.
I imagine that there next wave of phishing attempts will be
'hello this is the gibraltar xyz gaming site and you need to
confirm your user details'
Alas the bad news is that neither of us has really won the lottery
or found a friend in Africa with untold wealth to share. I don't
know how the seven year old card collectin boy with cancer is
keeping as haven't heard from him recently.
Google 'Craig Shergold' to read the story.
The FSC warn that the dummies whou bought shares from people
cold calling on the phone are now being approached by a company
to buy them, for an advance fee ... nothing really changes nothing
really at all.
Indeed the Nigerian 419 started life as 'the Spanish Prisoner'
again Google has the details.
For some of the others see:

BTW you are including graphic attachments at the end of your
posting, which is not considered 'good style' on newsgroup postings
where plain text rules.

Jim, there's a classic email conversation between a guy and a Nigerian
scammer on the web. It's an absolutely must read, hilarious.
Goes to google...
Here (had me crying when I first read them)

No problem, keep posting.
www.419eater.com is the best in my opinion, an absolutely hilarious scam
baiter.

So there!
It is important that you report all fraudulent emails you receive as it
gives Paypal the ability to close the scam site down quickly, thereby
saving others who may not have realised the fraud, from falling foul of
it.
