So the CM and the leader of the opposition go the the UN to give them the
well-rehrearesed arguments, this year with a twist. Basically they say the
UN is pretty much irrelevant to the casue as they were warned simply because
the UN themselves had diligently ignored the issues as regards Gib, which
in the light of such monumnetal inactivity has got on with things as best
suit her.

The UK representative gets up and says that the relationship that now exists
between the UK and Gib is no longer of a colonial nature. That the UN view
of colonialism is steeped in hisotical persepctives of what colonialism was,
and this exists no longer. Furthermore the "fly in the ointment" as regards
Gib is the claim by Spain which insists and rests on "the principle of
territorial integrity" which the UK neither accepts nor recognises.

The Spanish bloke blew several fuses, and reiterated all that which had been
said to be no longer of any relevance. For example - the Brussels Process is
alive, when it has been pronounced dead by the UK (and it takes two to
tango, lest we forget).

The UN decides, like UEFA, to postpone a decision on Gib given it can no
longer reiterate a cosy statement which has so far been reissued year upon
year after the ceremonial dusting-off.

Boy, are we living in interesting times!
