Commonwealth Day is a public holiday in Gib, as it is I believe among some
of the Commonwealth. Curiously, it does not feature at all in the UK. Maybe
that tells us more about the UK's attitude to the Commonwealth than anything
else.

There were suggestions that the UK having fewer public holidays than anyone
else in the UK and NOTHING between August bank hol (last Monday in August)
and Crimbo, something around Oct / Nov might be a good idea. Trafalgar Day
was proposed, but the politically-correct loby won through suggesting this
might offend the French . . . .

No mention of Commonwealth Day in Canada either. At least we get
Victoria Day in May.
