I have checked the following site

www.carphonemobileworld.co.uk

which offers a sim card giving calls for UK to Gibraltar for 6.8 pence
a minute (fixed and mobile). Has anyone in the UK used this sim card
and can they comment on how good the coverage/reliability is, as I am
thinking of getting one for my phone.

John.

I use telediscount (www.telediscount.co.uk) which uses a number you dial
first, then you dial the Gib no you want. It works out to 5p/min for both
fixed and mobile numbers in Gib. AND it works from a mobile in the UK, AND I
can use the included minutes in my mobile contract to make what in effect
become free calls to Gib, fixed or mobile, from my own UK mobile.

The number to access the Gib rate is 0844 566 4949 and it works 24-7.

The only DISadvantage is that I am charged 5p/min from the moment the UK
access number is answerd, NOT when the Gib number is answered, if at all.
OTOH the savings are so great, the occasional engaged or no-one-at-home call
is rapidly offset by the exceedingly cheap rate.
