Get your employer to sort out accommodation for you, at least in the first
instance - six months or a year. It is very difficult to do this remotely in
any case, in Gib where the property market is very tight . . . . Once
there you would be in a better position either to keep what you've had
organised on your behalf or sort something out for yourself, either rental
or purchase according to your choice / preferences / finances..
Some people do choose to live in Sp and live in Gib. This is entirely
possible, but adds a daily unknown time in either direction brought about by
any delays which may or may not apply at the border at the whim of the
prevailing political wind in Madrid. Also be aware that living in Spain
while while working in Gib will alter your rights to state education,
helathcare and other social benefits on either side of the border.

Why not ask your potential employer.
However why do you want to live in La Linea? Gibraltar is
much nicer.

But much more expensive, you would imagine.

That's a massive leap from what he originally asked, though. ;-)
