From a deceased estate I have a photo and odds and ends relating to a German
Soldier in WW1.
It was found in a dugout along with some other odds and ends and I would
like to return what is there to perhaps his relations.
His name was Wilhelm Dietz son of A.Dietz and he was born in Minden
12/7/1895.
He served with Infantry Regiment 15 and from what I read his parents were at
Street No 77 Minden.
No other clues unfortunately.
Any leads would be appreciated.

I suggest that you also post to soc.genealogy.german. While a lot of the
messages there are in german, if someone posts a query in english, it
usually gets ansered in english.
Should the hunt for family fail, someone might be able to suggest an
appropriate museum or archive.

A search on www.dastelefonbuch.de (the German online telephone
directory) gives 7 hits for Dietz in Minden.
You could try contact them.
