GEOGHEGAN, Irish surname, pronunciation - please???

can anyone tell me what the correct pronunciation of this surname is?

i have many inconsistencies with the spelling of this name in my family
tree.

I asked in Ireland and was told it was Gohegan (with an open 'o') .

There is an Irish Rugby Football international, same spelling, who is
pronounced:

GAYGAN

with equal stress on both syllables.

I think the spelling given above is a correct anglicization, but the way
I understand the correct pronunciation to be, is "Gaygen".

There are two I have commonly heard:

Gay-gen, and
Ge-hagen.

I went through grade-school with a family by that name. They pronounced
it "gay-gen".

The Geoghegans I know pronounce it Guh-Hay-Gen.
