I think that what you want is one of the Buckhead Creeks in GA. There is
one in Chatham County and one in Jenkins County. Land in those days was
described as being on some stream or next to somebody. It was hardly ever
described as being in a town.

Buckhead is also the name of a trendy suburb of Atlanta.

Bob: The USGS also lists three populated places ("ppl" in the list below) under
BUCKHEAD in Georgia, along with other assorted stuff besides the streams you
mentioned.

Actually, Buckhead is within the Atlanta city limits. It is in the
northern part of town and is very ritzy. That's where the governor's
mansion is. Look in a Rand McNally Road Atlas for the Atlanta map. The
Buckhead "dot" appears at the intersection of US 19 (Peachtree Rd.) and
Paces Ferry Rd.

It is only one word and is a section in Atlanta.

Buckhead Georgia is a town in Morgan County Georgia juts
off Interstate 20. There is another Buckhead Georgia along
the northern coast of Georgia which I believe is an area
that has long ago dissappeared. There is no town or city
in Atlanta named Buckhead..the Atlanta area called Buckhead
is simply a neighborhood.
