I haven't been able to find out where Genealogy.com got the index for its
1900 online census images. Does anyone know?

Thanks,
Donna

Donna,
Go to: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/1900census.html

Click on what are the data sources for this product.

Answer: Microfilm images of the 1900 United States Federal Census.

If you meant where did they buy it from, I don't know.

Val,

I know where they got the images from. My question is where did they get
the index.

It is an index that we created for the 1900 Census data collection
subscription.

Is it fixed yet? It had been giving erroneous "not founds" on a random
basis - 2 or three times nothing and then a hit. We were told it was a
known server problem and was being addressed by engineers. Will we be
told when it is fixed so we can trust it again?

Looks to me like he did - "It is an index that we created..." seems pretty
much of a straight answer. Sounds to me like an added-value task, done
by a commercial entity.
