Hi,
I have an interest in history of United States Naval Fighting
Ships. This is a hobby of mine, that I've grown into over the
years. What I really enjoy is attempting to locate the individual
history of U.S Navy Fighting ships of WW I & II,and even
prior to that period, transcribing that information, and e-mailing it to
individuals that request the history. Most, but not all, of
the history originates from DANFS [Dictionary of American Naval Fighting
Ships], which is an 8 vol. set pertaining to each
U.S. ships history. Of course I never charge for this service-----it is
completly free. I do not author the history, I transcribe
it, add my comments that I have gathered from other resource material,
and send this to you.
If you would care to visit my web page it will describe my hobby in
somewhat more detail.
http://www.angelfire.com/in/shiphistory/ then click on the
MOUNT HOOD STORY which is a sample of the DANFS
history [org. author DANFS] that is sent to individuals.
Of couse if you would rather just e-mail me
mailto:b...@fortwayne.infi.net I'll usually reply in a reasonable
time and let
you know if the history is available, and if so how soon I can
transcribe it and get it to you.
I have sent many history request to many individuals on the web, so
if you would like to check me out----please do. Like I
said---------its all free----no strings of "any" kind.

I wish you well

Dear Bud,
I am trying to find out something about my cousin, John Ross Amis, CWT,
USN, who served aboard the USS Bristol, and another destroyer, during
WWII. Can you help me? Harry Knowles
