Professional genealogists have adopted Elizabeth Shown Mills' Evidence
Style of source referencing. Some genealogy programs are now offering
built in templates for it. But some don't. I have just made freely
available a computer ready parametrization of Evidence Styles at
http://jytangledweb.org/genealogy/evidencestyle . I have begun
contacting program developers, primarily for software that offers no
such capability, encouraging them to adapt it and offering the
parametrization as a computer ready start for them, or at least a proof
of concept for their programming of it.

If your genealogy software does not offer Evidence Style templates and
capability, and you would like it to, please send them this note
pointing them to the above web site. If you let me know what software
you would like this capability added to, I will also contact their
developers to encourage them.

If you study the above site and find that software that does offer it,
doesn't offer all the features that I describe, also feel free to
contact them and also alert me to do so also.

Feel free to forward this message and repost it wherever you think it
might be of interest.

I am offering this with no strings to the genealogy community to help
advance it.

So, what genealogy software vendors should I contact?
Also feel free to suggest other groups and sites that I should
post this note to.

Thanks,
John
