I can't find any entries showing ancesters on boats from Europe. It's
as though my family just POOF MAGIC appeared in Delaware or PA..

The last names I'm researching are Bryant and Bonine, Bonine is NOT a
common name and it should be easy to go backward but it's as hard as
finding Smith or Jones information.

I'm subscribed to Ancestry.com(Blood Money) and am even STUCK with all
their Digitized Data.

Why does my life suck this bad and can someone here help me?

Do you have a clue to approximate year of immigration?

Do you have them in the 1930 census? If so you have month of birth
and year of immigration. If it is after 1910, the INS will give you
free copies of all the papers they filed (if they filed any).

Before 1900, those papers will be in the county where they were filed.

During the transition, they may be in one or the other or even both.

(I'm rounding off; I don't recall the exact years)

These papers will identify where they entered, where they came from,
and what vessel they sailed on.

If they came through Ellis Island, you can search for them at
http://EllisIsland.org Get a throw-away address to sign up with,
unless you want them to mail you frequent advertisements.

You might also try making inquiries on rootsweb/ancestry's message
boards for the surname or the county.

You might even try http://acpl.info Click "ask a librarian" and
on that page look for the _genealogy_ form/link, not the general.

Be very specific in your question. They are wonderful people,
but some of the questions I've seen can only be answered by sending
the entire collection.

I used to take on challenges like this for the fun of it, but
medical issues have put a stop to that.

Are you saying there's no good way to answer a fool?

Also, ask your local librarian if they know where you can find
Filby's Passenger and Immigration Lists Index. It's a HUGE pile
of books that lists millions of mentions of people in thousands
of books, and tells what book/page each entry is in/on.
