My new Sabbat players are about to start their first game and cannot
agree on a pack name. I've had everything from The Crimson Blades [too
contrived & a hard one to live up to for neonates besides] to Umfufu
Goonygoogoo M'buten [don't ask] and everything in between. Please
bombard me with suggestions for pack names. Incidently the pack consists
of Ravnos, Gangrel anf Brujah antitribu. I'm kind of hoping for
something that doesn't sound like they all sat down and thought of
something 'kewl' but rather something that could have just evolved. The
frontrunner is 'Carrion Crows' at the moment [not too bad] but LMK.

Well what are the character concepts? Will this be a nomadic pack or a city
pack? You could try something with the ramble. Roaming Gypsies?

The last Pack I(as a PC) was a member of was called The Drunken Voodoo Posse.
Our Priest was a Serpent of Light (which tended to give all of out rituals a
voudoun flavor) and our Haven was the basement of a really sleazy biker bar.

Unless the characters - not the players - are all comic book goobs, I suggest
avoid anything that sounds like the name of a superhero or supervillian team.
(I usually go for a street gang or Tong feel)

Something like "The Lords of Death" or "The Disciples of Cain". "The Seven
Thunders".

Does the pack have a signature weapon? Sledgehammers? (The Hammerboys) Fire
axes? (The Hatcher Men; The Firemen)

Are any of them on a Path of Enlightenment? What are their pack rituals like?
Are they of a religious bent (perhaps a mockery of one human religion or
another) The name could reflect this. (The Church of Jesus Christ, Cainite).

Or, maybe the pack just has a warped and morbid sense of humor, and want a name
to reflect this (The Andersonville Reenactment Society. The North Haverbrook
Bridge Club and Terrorist Collective.)

How about "Eponymous Bosch and his Fatheads"?

OT:

I remember a great Star Wars game I played in once (you can read about it on
my ftp site: ftp://chronic.lpl.arizona.edu/pub/rebels) in which the PCs took
over a ship and renamed it "Our Ship Now Come and Try And Take It From Us
Monkey- Boy". This was the elaborate setup to a terrible joke:

GM: The starport hails you on the ship's com unit. "This is Wevsignington Four
Spaceport. Welcome. Please identify yourself."

PLAYER: "This is Our Ship Now Come and Try And Take It From Us Monkey-Boy
calling Spaceport. Over."

this sounds like a great roleplay opportunity. Let the characters fight it
out and decide the name based on intimidation, fear and control (sounds
like a Sabbat thing to do to me)
Or just leave them without one, start the game calling them, "our gang" or
'those guys'or somehting very generic , they will soon realize how silly
this is and settle on a name.

Actually, "Our Gang" sounds kinda neat.

(But you'd need to start calling one of the pack members "Buckwheat" for it
to really work...)

simple names like "Fangs" or "Crows"
or "Purebloods" or "Shadows"
work as well.

we used to have some tagger style gang in our area here that called
themselves
the Blind Boys--from an obvious source of theft there.

often times gang type packs will have a neighborhood or street as part
of their name,
like Compton or something like that.
