Well, it looked like Cartographer was working for awhile, but no...

I have had several situations now where it thinks I am somewhere other
than I am, and the map is completely off kilter as a result. Tonight I
was in netherlands with a 72 toon in Vengance Camp, and it thought I was
in the middle of the map. Trying to run to the nearest road just led to
a dead end canyon with a pack of angry mobs at my heels... :-(

I have seen this 3 times now. Earlier times were the result of dying,
but this toon has not died in a long time.

Anyone know a way to kick Cartographer in the butt and get it to reset
to where I really am?

Mapster, Gathermate and Tomtom have been updated to work with 3.3 -
which covers most of what Cartographer does, IIRC.

Does Mapster support mapnotes? Or is there a seperate addon for map notes
that works in parallel to Mapster?

Cheers

HandyNotes does. But I am not sure if its updated yet. I think you asked
earlier for import of your old Map Notes and I frankly don't know if it
can do it.

I have looked into HandyNotes and some other Cartographer replacements.
On a char with just those replacement addons I have been unable to get
HandyNotes to work, or maybe am just too dumb.

With Cartographer_Notes I was able to type
/note x,y desc
which would create a note at the indicated position of the current zone with
"desc" as text. As far as I can tell, there is no slash command in
HandyNotes to manually add notes this way. Also, I have been unable to add a
note using my mouse in the map. Import of notes does not seem to be
possible, but I'll live through adding the few I have created.

If anyone can give me a hint, I'd be much obliged.

Other than that, I think I can throw out Cartographer and not loose much.

Using:
- Mapster
- Crombulate (name?) for Level info/Fishing info
- TomTom

Apart from map notes, this seems to cover the Cartographer features I had
been using regularly.
