Second edition is better.

Wow, thanks for your help, guys.
I'm not sure if it'll work, and the manual does state '98 onwards, but try
upgrading '95 with the latest service packs and go from there. Other than
that I'm sure you could find a '95 to '98 upgrade CD for cheap.

I think the real question is if his computer is powerful enough. I
mean, if he is running win95, then it is normally likely he has an old
system? Unless he upgraded of course.

Actually, WinXP is a hell of alot better than 9x. Best thing to emerge
from the MS labs for quite a while IMO.

Nope. HTH.
Yeah... my window is the best. Only problem is, I need to clean it with
soap, due to dusty environment. :p

To clean the inside of monitors, turn monitor face down on a cloth to
protect the screen from scratches and pour luke warm (as you can scold
capacitors quite badly if the water is too hot) water and soap mix into
the grills at the back and top. I usually find Fairy Lemon Fresh
washing up liquid to be the best.
Cleaning CD/DVD/HD is just as easy but best to leave the comp switched
on as you pour the water in the back because this way the disks will be
spinning to aid the cleaning.
Now please note that since you have to move heavy units in this process
I will add that I bear no responsibility for any back strain, equipment
fault or other health/computer problems you may encounter. If unsure,
please consult the advice of a doctor.
Win98 first edition here. Tell me one reason why *I* would want Second
Edition?
d
You don't need Windows 98 Second Edition. You need a new computer that can
support Windows XP/2000 that has better support for hardware, especially USB
2.0. Burning a complete 640MB CDR on a 40x/24x/10x CDRW on a USB 2.0 takes
less than 3 minutes ! :pp

Well, for one thing, I can use DOS with Win98. In XP you can't open a
DOS window while running Windows.
Dual boot? :-)

That's because it's a new OS. Not a GUI to DOS.
Don't need any of that. I'll be upgrading my system severly from P3 to P4
based soon, but I'll either keep Win98FE or move to Win98SE.

In XP it's called a Command Console or something like that. It isn't
really DOS but from the user standpoint it has the same functionality,
and unlike DOS, you can scroll the terminal window. However, the
performance seems to be a bit slow compared to Win9x DOS Prompts.
Also, some of the DOS commands were changed or consolidated into
switches, which gives it a more UNIX-like feel, which I suppose was
sensible given that NTFS is more similar to UNIX filesystems than to
FAT.
