Let me see if I got this straight.
You open one of the eggs you picked up and you turn into a rabbit.
So now you have about 30 minutes to get to Un'Goro and to the lake and
lay an egg there?
Can you fly between FPs and keep this shapechange?
Is there something on the action bar that lays the egg?
I thought I saw somewhere that some help is needed for this. Help to
lay an egg? What is it? Something like emote "Pull my finger" and the
other person does a /pull?
Crazy man!!

You can do it this way, but it's much more convenient to take a friend
along who has the rabbit costume wand, and have him make you into a rabbit
after you've arrived.
> Is there something on the action bar that lays the egg?
As I recall, it's random. You just hop around for a minute or two and
eventually you lay an egg.

I don't think you can fly, but you can use portals. There's a YouTube
video from a couple years ago showing how to do it:

But, as John says, it's a hell of a lot easier to go there in your
regular form, and get someone with a wand to make you into a bunny.

Last year for fun, I got turned into a rabbit at Bloodhoof Village, in
the Tauren starting area. I then hopped to Un'Goro, through the
Barrens, 1K Needles and Tanaris, just to see if it could be done. It
could. :-) As a warning, though, IIRC correctly, any kind of damage
removes the costume, so no getting hit by mobs or even falling a
little.
> Is there something on the action bar that lays the egg?
Nope, just random. Stay still and you'll lay an egg eventually.

Easiest method is to go to Un'Goro with a guildie/friend and get them to
wand you once there. Or you could find another player who also needs to be
wanded..

As I said in my original post, "Last year for fun . . ." I just wanted
to see if it could be done.

Sounds like some warlocks can make extra gold running a taxi service.
Only for the really impatient, or for low levels. UC is a low 50's
zone, and no real problem at the appropriate level. Getting there for
the first time is long slog. Silithus is even worse. Once you have the
flight points its easier, though its still the ass-end of nowhere.
For 70s and 80s, if you've done the appropriate quest, there's a gate
in Sholazar Basin that will take you to a tiny zone in the hills on
the north side of UC. From there you can descend into the crater
proper, but you can't get back up.

Well it will be a lot easier htan I thought. Between jsut 3 toons
grabbing eggs so far I have more branches than I can shake a,... a
branch at,... er,... a stick at.
I'm expect that it could take a good amount of time just getting the
whole bunch of family toons there to do it. Perhaps I'll take the trip
from Darnassus to Desolace, 1KN and Tanaris and do the Plant a Flower
acheivement on the way and eventually end them all up in Un'Goro to
lay an egg.
Looks like there won;t be any randoms this week.

Well, don't forget there's the portal in Dalaran that goes to Tanaris.
(Though I don't know if there's any sort of level restriction on it)

Yeah and then I hit the goblin city and fly to 1KN and Desolace and
then hit Ungoro. Still a lot of flying.
I've got a few days till I do that part of it because I sitll have a
lot of family toons that I have to gather eggs for so I can get some
more info from others as to what they thought was fastest.
I like to get hte nerve racking activities done first so I can relax
the rest of the week.

I don't think there's a restriction on the Dalaran one, but I completely
forgot about it, and did my bunny hop by hearthing to Dalaran from Karanos,
jumping through the shatt portal, hopping down from there to the bar and
having Zephyr send me to the caverns of time, and then (carefully) hippity
hopping across Tanaris and Un'goro to the hot springs. Doing it the
"right" way and not cheesing it with summons and bunny makers took about
20 minutes total. *

My daughter and I just ran this, my brand new 15th level BE Paladin and her 57
lvl BE hunter. Got mashed a couple of times because my daughter still hasn't
learned "when daddy's character is getting munged, stop typing and KILL THE MOB!"
Anyway, tedious, but a bit of fun and we both laid eggs in the crater.
I still would like to have been a fly on the wall at that design meeting:
picture it at 5 am after an all nighter, too much coffee, and maybe some mood
enhancing substances, when one designer says,"Dude, I have it! What if me make
them, like, little easter bunnies, you know? And because easter bunnies bring
eggs, we'll have them, like lay eggs? And they got to lay them in the most
inconvenient place for, like, every faction and race?"
Could not have dreamed that up while straight.

OK, is this a horde thing? I'm new to the horde and haven't gotten a toon to
Dalaran. My Alliance characters sure haven't stumbled across any portals to
Tanaris.
Nope it's for both factions - inside the Violet Citadel, go up the
stairs behind Rhonin and turn left, there's a portal to Caverns of
Time (in Tanaris)

Thanks. Another shortcut is welcome. As a DK, I can get to the north of
Eastern Kindoms with ease, now I can get to the south of Kalimdor.
Best, R.E.F.
It's not a horde thing. In BC, players at least revered with the keepers of
time could (and still can) get a free ride to the caverns of time by going
to the world's end tavern and talking to an all-white elf named Zephyr that
hangs out there. I usually use it when I need to go down that way, because
for some reason I am unable to remember where the equivalent portal in
dalaran is located. *
