Here is the official announcment by the organisers:
========================
Here at Aman we seem to have loads of things to cheer about at the
minute and one of them is our birthday ;-).and to celebrate we are
having one of our server famous gnome races, and you're invited ;p
The race will be on the first Sunday after our birthday which is
Easter Sunday, the 16th of April, at 15:00 server time. The route, as
last time, is from IF to Booty Bay
Entry fee is 1 Gold
All cash from entry fee goes to prize fund, with some other stuff
from our guild vault
At the minute first prize is = Krol blade and cold hard cash. More
Racers = bigger prize fund ;p
ok how do i join?
STEP ONE>>>>>>
make your gnome....Gnome MUST be named after a number
e.g.....one
sixtynine
hundredandthree
(you get the idea)
if you are not named after a number you are not eligible.
STEP TWO>>>>>>
registration....to register you must see Patsabre , Liandrin or
Winston with you gnome, pay 1 gold entrance fee and you will be
invited to the GnomeRacers guild.
To be eligible you MUST be level 1 AND you MUST be in Ironforge.
Anyone who levels gnome on the way to IF will not be eligible to
race.
OK so what's the rules?
The rules are that you ONLY have your little gnome feet to win the
race...and NOTHING ELSE. No high level help, no pots, flight
points, summons, teleports, items blah blah blah....JUST a naked
level 1 gnome. At level 1 most of these things are unavailable
anyway
CORPSE RUNNING.
When you die (and you will die) you MUST return to you
body, i.e. corpse run. Graveyard rezzing will mostly put you further
behind anyway. Dieing and then goin to another graveyard further
on and then rezzing does not work either ;p
Race officials, map watchers and stewards will be there to ensure
fairness and to kill any real nasty mobs.
OK so what's the route?
The route will be same as last time. From gates of IF to Booty
Bay, by any way you choose. The first gnome to open trade window
with race official at booty bay will win the race and first prize.
Route rules
NO SWIMMING....winner last time took 70+gold pot by swimming from
Menethil to booty bay rofl.
NO RUNNING UP THE TRAM TRACKS TO STORMWIND...messed up last race
;p
NO FLYING/SUMMONS/TELEPORT or stuff like that.
-----------------------------------
Best thing is that it strips all players of their uber loot, high
level epics and puts all players on the same level. You only have
your dexterity on the keyboard, cunning ability to stitch up other
players and luck as your tools to win the race. It's also REALLY
funny,
========================
The more people we get, the bigger the prize fund will be, so roll a
level 1 gnome, get an alt (or a friend) to supply the 1g entry fee,
and come and join in the fun.
Hope to see you there,
Zil, AKA "Ninetynine", level 1 gnome warlock.

Sounds like fun.
Do you have any alt's on the horde side so that i can pay that way?
I don't personally. I'll have to ask the organisers if there's a way
to get fees fron Horde. Not sure how we'd do that but I'll ask.
B.
Will basic shirts and pants be worn?

this is just so cool :)
if you remove everything from your character, you will still be wearing
enough to cover your modesty.
"naked" in WoW terms means having no wearable possessions :)
Read the rules.

Aka "Misc" -- If you don't remove your pants, I won't get your email.
> The only thing i don't like is the naked part. I know it's only a game,
> but it still bothers me enough not to join.
It seems you ought to at least be able to wear your shoes...
> If Stormrage Europe is the same as regular Stormrage
Stormrage Europe IS regular Stormrage to those of us in Europe, Brian :)
If you're on Stormrage US, then you won't be able to pass money on to
those of us on regular Stormrage... ;)
