Okay, I downloaded the WC2 demo, but when I try to play it through
windows, it says I have preformed an illegal opperation, but when I try
to play it through DOS, my screen just blanks out on me what did I do
wrong? Someone please help.

Try going into the war2.ini file and the 11th line down will say
_______=0. Change that to one, and you HAVE to run uvconfig that comes
with the game.
