Lost in the Deeps

Pebble pet (did you know in the original quest where he accompanies
you, his damage actually shows up in Recount as "melee" and
"Boulder"? :D), so I check every chance I get for the Lost in the
Deeps daily.
I have not seen it for at least the last 10 days and, in fact, when
checking my achievements, see that I got Exalted with Therazane on
January 1. I have completed the Pebble daily twice since then, because
it has only been offered twice in 20 days (since the 1st).
Has anyone else noticed a poor "spawn" rate for this daily or is this
just really bad RNG luck?

I have been exalted with Therazane for about a week now. I have yet to
complete the two achievments for slapping Glop 10 times and for rescuing
Pebble 10 times. I have definitely killed Glop more than I have rescued
Pebbles but don't know the exact numbers (I would have said I saved Pebbles
about 4 times or so). It's a shame those achievments don't tell you how many
times you have done each of the dailies required.
But 4 Pebbles against 5..9 Glops doesn't seem to be a generally poor spawn
rate, I'd say that is fully within RNG variance.

Yes. In the entire time from Honored to Exalted my warrior got this daily
ONCE.
And keep in mind, I got from Honored to Exalted solely by doing dailies, not
running dungeons with the tabard.

I've been doing the dailies in deepholm for about a week and this has
never showed up.

Yes! I've checked every day for, hmm, not sure how long but I got the
Therazane exalted achievement back on January 2nd, so... however many
days it took to get exalted plus every day since then. And I've seen
that daily twice, I think. Worst spawnrate of any daily I can think
of... I have zero reason to go to Deepholm except checking for that
daily now (well, if I get the elemental goo JC daily I'll take the
gyreworms one and do the two together for extra gold) so it's pretty
annoying when it never spawns. I'm just grateful they stuck a portal
to Orgrimmar in that zone, would drive me crazy if I had to waste a
hearthstone cd every time for nothing!

Anyone find it odd that the portal from Org drops you next to the SW
portal in Deepholm as though you'd come from SW?

Yes, that one's always felt odd, guess Blizz forgot to adjust the drop
location when coding that portal :-)

Since both the portals from SW and Org drop you at the same location, why
not place that location right in front of the portal leading onwards to the
quest givers?
And the returning portal could drop you in the middle between the SW/Org
portals. That would save me some running :-)

Perhaps it was intended that way, as you are actually going there on
behalf of the Earthen Ring, not your individual factions.
Would make sense as the Earthen Ring fellows are the ones by the
portals in the capital cities, that they would port everybody to the
same place.

You're going *through* a portal though. It would seem logical* for
you to be next to it when you get to the other side.

There's a theory that's what happened with the scarab artifact from
Tol'vir achaeology (it spawns a bunch of non-combat scarabs). The
cooldown is 1 hour, 40 minutes, which is kind of silly considering the
scarabs don't even last that long. 1 hour, 40 minutes = 100 minutes. I
think someone accidentally added an extra "0". :-)

and the mini patch solved the issue...
Got my "Family of Glop" achievment on Saturday, so now only need a few more
Pebbles rescued (though I don't know the exact number).

Does make me wonder, then - was wondering if it was pure luck for my
server but if yours got it too then maybe a small hotfix buffed the
spawnrate on that quest. Seen complaints on the forums about it barely
existing too - there's patience and then there's insanity, making
people keep goinjg back for well over a month past exalted lol.

Grats :-) Had my Glop one for several weeks now, that's what's so
frustrating about the Pebble one never spawning (and I so want that
pet, it's so cute having him follow you around for the quests there
involving him :-))

I didn't see it for a week after I posted this thread - which would
have made it about just over two weeks that I didn't see it - when I
got it several times in several days, as well.

The thing that tickles me is, when you fight a mob, seeing the little
guy throwing rocks at the mob for all he's worth. Like I said in my
original post, he does actually appear in Recount, doing a melee
attack, and something called "Boulder". :-)
Anyway, I know I'm getting close; sure wish the achievement thing had
a counter tracker.

Gratz! I've seen NPCScan light up with it about 3 or 4 times and I could
target it but by the time I managed to get where it supposedly spawns others
had already killed it.
